Electric grass and earth pitch
Liked The site facilities are spotless and really well laid out, they go right to the top of our list for our camping experiences. The site is really well placed for exploring Dartmoor and Devon and the hosts, Debbie and Allan, are really friendy and approachable with lots of local suggestions. Loved our camping trip and we highly recommend!

Honeysuckle electric grass campervan, tent or trailer tent pitch
Liked We really enjoyed our trip on this site, and not juat because of the lack of children. Our tent pitch was a great size and with power and water there without any traipsing needed. The wash up, freezer, shower and toilet block were clean and comfortable (we recommend the cubicles without the shower curtains and with the squeedgee). The site is in a really lively and quiet part of Dorset, and the tiny country lanes can be fun when not daunting. I would definitely not recommend trying to walk on these lanes to a local pub or eatery due to safety, either drive or book a local taxi ahead of time. The site office has taxi numbers and we're very helpful.

From the manager: Thank you for your review - we are really pleased you enjoyed your trip. Most of the local taxi firms know Pineapple well now and are more than willing to take guests in to town or out to the more remote country pubs.

Non-electric grass tent pitch (wild)
Liked This was our first camping trip to The Darling Woods of May, we were so happy with our choice of campsite. The campsite is flat with sheltered mature woodland surrounding the site. We chose an idyllic pitch which stood by some trees off to one side as we prefer it a bit secluded. The young alpacas were gorgeous and I will definitely book an alpaca plod on our next visit. The toilet and show block (2 x unisex loo and 1 gas heated full size shower) was kept beautifully clean and was a real home comfort as they are roomy and high quality. There are 3 wash up sinks, outdoor tap, bin store and you can hire fire pits and logs etc. You park up in the car park and use the trolleys to transport everything to/from your pitch site; we liked that they were no cars in the camping areas but be aware that this is an activity not suited to anyone with mobility issues.
Sophie and Simon were lovely and friendly and confirmed we had made a fantastic choice of site.
Disliked We can't think of anything we disliked at all.

Non-electric grass campervan, tent or trailer tent pitch (large)
Liked Great selection of facilities although the shower block that was nearest to our pitch closed between 10.30pm and 7.30am which means when you needed to go for a night wee, it was a longer trudge for seemingly no reason. The wash up facilities, fridges and freezer are fabulous. The coffee shop and pastries in the morning an absolute joy! We didn't try the pizzas but I'm sure they would have been very nice. The location is really beautiful and central to some great towns to visit and plenty of walks. The Tea Cottage in the village does not do full breakfasts anymore and nothing for vegetarians FYI. It's important to note that you cannot park your car by your tent pitch, they ask that you park in the car parks (one is very far away from the non electric pitches, one very close) but I quite agree. It's load and unload only. We really enjoyed our 4 day weekend, even though it rained!

Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch
Liked What a beautiful stay. The location is tranquil and very pretty and just the perfect size for us as we like the more peaceful side of things. We had a lovely pitch which backed onto the woods and was near the top of the field, this meant it was just a short walk over the road to the lovely, clean Toilet/Shower/Sink block. There was also a pool table, kettle and microwave alongside fridges and freezers - perfect for us. There is a Co-op fuel station just a few minutes up the road which is ideal. We will be visiting again and would like to sample the local pub and the local walking trails which are highly recommended. Thank you Jonathan.
