Disliked Incredibly hilly and long walk to the toilets
Had to put £1 coin in for a shower, I know this is stated when booking but for £26 a night I’m not sure what I’m paying for ?

From the manager: Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback. We’re pleased you enjoyed our location and on-site burger van. We would, however, like to clarify a couple of points regarding your comments. Guests choose their own pitch upon arrival, so you are not allocated a pitch a long distance from the facilities. Our toilet and shower facilities are centrally located, and guests are free to choose a pitch that suits their preferences. The site itself is naturally hilly, which is unfortunately something we cannot change. Having said this there are plenty of flat pitches to be found! Regarding the £1 shower charge and your comment about “what you’re paying for” at £16 per night, we feel it is important to put this into perspective. Running a campsite involves substantial and continually increasing costs, including staff wages, electricity, gas, waste disposal, maintenance, insurance, land rental costs, VAT, council/business rates and other taxation, as well as the ongoing upkeep and future plans to improve the site and its facilities. The £1 shower charge is clearly stated at the time of booking, so guests are aware of this additional cost before arrival. We appreciate that everyone has different expectations of value, but we do feel it is important to recognise that the nightly pitch fee has to contribute towards the considerable costs involved in operating and maintaining the site. We genuinely welcome constructive feedback and will always consider where improvements can be made. We’re pleased there were aspects of your stay that you enjoyed, and we wish you all the best for your future travels.
