What a fantastic site! We were…

Sept 2026

Liked What a fantastic site! We were greeted on arrival (sorry, I can’t remember their name!) and given some great, friendly advice, which included the emergency contact number. We were able to choose our own pitch, which was lovely, and not long after arriving we were checked on to make sure everything was okay. You could always see someone going around the site in a buggy, so there was always help nearby if needed, but the whole place felt so relaxed and peaceful. The site was incredibly quiet, which was just amazing! The restaurant was reasonably priced, and the steak cooked on a hot stone is an absolute must! We also enjoyed the pizza night on Saturday, which was delicious. For the dogs, there’s a small enclosed dog field where they can have a run off lead and enjoy a good sniffari — enough to keep the pooches very happy! 🐾 Showers and toilets lovely and clean warm and some music also. 💗 We absolutely loved our stay and will definitely be returning. Highly recommended! ❤️

Peaceful, spotless campsite with friendly atmosphere, great facilities.

Jun 2026

Liked We had a fantastic stay at this campsite! The whole site is exceptionally well maintained, with spotless toilets and shower facilities that were always clean. Being an adults-only site made for a lovely peaceful atmosphere, and everyone we met was friendly, welcoming, and helpful. The enclosed dog field was a great addition. It's not huge, but it was perfect for letting our dog have a run off the lead. My only small suggestion would be to have a one-dog-at-a-time rule, as my dog is a little shy and won't go to the toilet if another dog is watching! The campsite is in a good central location for exploring the area, although the walking spots we wanted to visit in Devon were around a 30–40 minute drive away. We had a camping fridge, so food wasn't a problem, but if you do need anything, there is a reasonably priced farm shop nearby and the on-site shop stocks the essentials. It would be even better if there were food vans on Friday and Saturday evenings, as that would be a lovely extra after a day out exploring. This was only our second camping trip, and it couldn't have gone much better. We really enjoyed our stay and would happily recommend this campsite to anyone looking for a peaceful, immaculately kept place to relax and unwind. While we probably wouldn't stay again, that's only because we realised we'd prefer to be closer to the specific areas of Devon we wanted to explore. That's purely down to our own plans and not a reflection of the campsite, which was excellent.

Disliked The only minor inconvenience for us was that we had to drive everywhere we wanted to visit, as there aren't many dog walks that can be accessed directly from the campsite. This was more to do with our itinerary than the campsite itself. The on-site shop is handy for basic essentials, although it would be even better if it stocked a few more everyday items such as butter and cooking oil for campers who run out during their stay.

From the manager: Many thanks for your review. Firstly with regards to walks: We do have lots of walks which are directly from the campsite, but they are on lanes and as we are in Devon it is very hilly. You are sent detailed walks and maps of all the walks. This information is sent to you 3 days prior to your arrival. With regards to our small onsite shop: We do not stock butter or meats as we are very lucky to have the farm shop with is less than a minutes walk down the track from the campsite. We do stock cooking oil and lots of other essentials for our guests. With regards to food vans: Sadly we would need to sell a minimum of 60 pizzas a night for it to be worth the pizza van being here and sadly we just would not be able to do this. We do 4 wonderful local pubs within a 5 mile radius of us which are all dog friendly. With regards to the dog park: As there are only two of us who work 7 days a week we cannot manage who uses the dog park and when. This is purely common sense and courtesy to ask if your dog is friendly and do you mind if we come in. As this is an adults only site I'm sure that people do not need us to arrange this for them. I am confused as to why you have put in your review that you would recommend us to friends but you have crossed this out? However we are pleased that you did enjoy your stay with us. Best wishes from Leigh and David
