Electric optional gravel and hardstanding touring pitch
Liked What an absolute gem of a site. Could go there, just to watch the view and weather coming through. Small, quiet, great facilities with a proper shower unit, like you’d have at home. Different types of recycling options, loads of water taps for filling up and optional EHU if required. Dawn popped round to ensure all was good, and gave us a few options of walks as footpaths straight from the camp field. We used this location as plenty of surf spots within an hour, and easy drive to The Gower Penninsula without the staggering prices of the area! Dog friendly too.
Disliked Not really a dislike, but something to be mindful of are the steep narrow lanes both too and from the site when following Google maps, some of which were stone walls on either side, so be aware of your vehicle dimensions!! Also, if using the footpaths, there are horses/ponies in many fields, all of whom we found often overly friendly…

Electric gravel touring pitch
Liked Clean facilities, friendly welcome from Jane, and great walks off lead for the dog close by. We used it as a base camp for going to The Wave, which was super handy.
Disliked Motion activated light in the bathroom, that doesn’t register movement in the loo… I swear I wasn’t in there THAT long…!!!

Croyde Burrows electric grass touring pitch
Liked Location, pitch size and location within the site. Facilities, such as chemical disposal, rubbish, including recycling option, water was great. Nice that it’s all been opened up to dogs and other animals.
Disliked Definitely overpriced for what you get, and clearly milking the location and seasonal uptake. Stayed there for four nights, and don’t think the showers and toilets were ever cleaned. Loo roll and bin bags were changed only.

Electric grass and gravel touring pitch
Liked Easy going, laid back atmosphere, good facilities, level pitches, and the dog especially enjoyed the Duck & Chicken ‘TV’ options. Perfect peaceful location not too far from Bude, and a lovely base to come back to each evening. High enough to be lovely and cool.
Disliked The grey gravel dust! Will park closer to the grass next time.

Non-electric grass pitch
Liked Great facilities, plenty of space, lovely staff, great for the dog too!
Disliked Arrival instructions not really adequate, signage for the site is terrible, and it’s not obvious what to do or where to go at all. Every entrance is marked as private, so you’re not sure if you’re supposed to go in or not.

Electric hardstanding motorhome pitch
Liked Lovely friendly staff, beautiful village, great walks for the dog with miles and miles of footpaths around the local orchards, quiet campsite.
Disliked My original pitch was basically impossible to get into! Very heavily laden pear tree, which could do with a good pruning, a caravan with its butt half over the pitch on one side, and a massive tent set up with guy ropes everywhere encroaching on the other side. Luckily there was another pitch available and I was put in there for my one night.

Liked Great location, five minutes down to the beach, wonderful views across Croyde Bay and ideal for sunsets. Coastal path offers great walks, and dogs are allowed in the sand dunes. Fabulous cafe in the car park next door, and the brilliant Lords of Down End surf school and rental shop were superb, friendly and welcoming. The guys at the campsite were helpful, especially in using the blocks to level up.
Disliked The site is not level, and although it’s not denied, it needs to be called out a lot better, so that people are better prepared for what it’s like. Toilets and shower are the public ones in the car park. You have to remember to get a token to use the shower within the 8-8 opening times, and choose your time wisely to avoid having to queue to use the one shower. It’s a well managed field, and for that, it is expensive for what it is.
