We were there for three nights and enjoyed what we did.07/30/2024

We loved the top field only 6 pitches and we had the whole field to ourselves for a day. Great things to do if you have the money. Not bad prices but when you have a lot of children can be pricey.

    Disliked:

There was a blocked toilet in the top toilet block for three days and the lights in the block wasn’t detecting anyone walking in there at night so didn’t feel save going to those toilets at night. I did think the maintenance was poor also the park is a lovely little park but some parents think it’s ok to just let their kids go off and play and not supervise them and then the kids go breaking equipment.

The site is really good. Spacious pitch, grass is nice, ground really even. The venue accommodated my large group and placed us all together. The facilities were good, clean and fairly luxurious for a camp site! Loads of fun things to do on site at an extra cost. The bar/restaurant was decent with live music on the weekends which was a bonus. Very dog friendly. It’s a nice relaxed site that’s great for novices (as most of my group were).

    Disliked:

Some of the staff were quite rude but overall the service was ok.
My daughter did the treetop adventure which she enjoyed but it took a good while to get round it all because they had to stop and wait for the rest of the group to catch up constantly. We’ve been to similar (Go Ape) and you make your own way round at your own pace which was preferable. However, it was a good treetop course and more scenic than others.

The activities available were brilliant and the onsite restaurant with live music, really good food was fantastic. A lovely spot and we had a brilliant 3 night stay.

    Disliked:

Toilet and shower blocks were good but could do with a little more regular floor mopping as gets quite muddy.

Wow, what a fantastic site. Lovely large touring pitch. Under the shade of trees was a blessing as we were lucky and had really warm weather. Tent pictures are large too.

A very nice dog walk through the forest around the fishing lake and the wild Meadow. Lots of activities for the kids, ours did the mini quad bikes. There is also indoor soft play for little ones, a very well kept and attractive crazy golf, play park with zip and ground trampolines, football pitch and fitness gym. The bar and surrounding area is stunning, The pizza restaurant is very pretty and serves very nice food (happy hour on cocktails 4-5pm. A cute little shop selling essentials and fresh baked goods, icecream etc.

The staff are very friendly we will definitely be returning next year. Thank you for a brilliant stay Marwell Resort Hampshire.

    Disliked:

    Positive feedback for site:
We were in a group with EHU campers too and they struggled a little with the distance to the nearest toilet, we felt that a small block of just 4 toilets (wooden block?) in the touring field would really improve this.

The road in has quite a few large potholes in the gravel which made it very difficult to drive towing a caravan. Easily filled to sort that problem.

The smell from the cesspit in the trees near the cabins was off putting and wafts over to the bar/restaurant at times. This was probably my personal negative point, it’s apparently worse when there’s hot weather (it was hot during our stay).

The site would benefit from a covered game room with pool tables, ping pong etc. if weather wasn’t playing ball.

These are just a few suggestions that would make the site 5 stars from me. But all in all, an absolutely brilliant site. ❤️

Good site but terrible customer service07/29/2024

We really liked the site itself, camping fields were nice. The kids liked the playground and the activities in the woods. The toilets and showers were the nicest I’ve used when camping.
We booked the high ropes activity. The shop and restaurant were handy to have on site.

    Disliked:

The biggest disappointment for our group was the poor customer service. The staff in the little shop were great, but the staff in the welcome hut, high ropes course and behind the till at the restaurant were incredibly rude (including when they had messed up my food order - absolutely no apology and I was quizzed about everything I had ordered and the timing of my order whilst they regularly swore at the till in-front of me whilst munching on my missing chips), I think they could all benefit from training in customer service and learning how to interact with the public.

Upon receiving an email a couple of weeks previous to sign up to the activities all the quad biking was already booked up, and only two spaces were remaining on the high ropes course. The high ropes course itself was good, but the instructor was incredibly rude to my daughter, and ultimately the whole set up was flawed because they had to wait for the instructor to keep ‘rounding’ the whole group up (there was about 12 people up there in total). This left our daughters waiting on a high platform for about 20 minutes - I would have had a panic attack if it had been me up there that long. A really straight forward solution would have been having two instructors up there.

The showers and toilets were nice but the toilets were often out of loo roll, so could have been stocked up more frequently.
