Great place with lots to do. Well kept shower and toilet block. Very lovely staff...thank you Emma, for taking care of our booking and making sure a fire pit was already waiting for us. Lots of fun for the kids on the football ground and crazy golf course. Wednesday pizza evening at the restaurant with lovely woodfired pizzas.

WARNING - Tourers make clear you do not want placing in Digby's field07/31/2024

The main touring field looked nice, was near facilities and the nearest toilets/showers to this field were OK.

    Disliked:

We recently stayed here with our touring caravan. There are two fields for touring/camping. One seems to be really nice, close to facilities and well set out as we would normally expect. The second is accessed down a very uneven rough track at the far end of the site with many potholes and deep tyre tracks. It is basically just a field with electric connections. There are no washing up facilities and no water tap unlike the other field. The nearest toilets have to be accessed either through the wood or down the rough track, a bit of a trek but OK in daylight, at night there is no lighting. The wood has festoon lights strung through it but at the time we were there they were not on all night. A really good torch is vital but it is still not ideal. The nearest toilets were not pleasant, very small cubicles, showers with curtains only and no changing areas. At night the lights in the toilet block work on a sensor but in the ladies this is not triggered at the door as you enter, you need to walk to the other end of the toilets in the dark before the lights come on. Given these are the toilets used by people in the bar, they are not always as clean as they might be and the walk to the other end is treacherous in the dark. I recommend taking two torches if you are a male/female group going to the toilet block at the same time. I would also add that when we were there we witnessed people washing their pots in the sinks in the ladies, I expect this is because there is no pot washing facility in the second field and it was a bit of a hike to the facilities not the short walk promised on the website. We unfortunately were put in the second field - we actually thought it must be an overflow field for when the rest of the site is full, it spoilt our stay there and was definitely not worth the cost we paid, you are charged the same for a grass electric pitch no matter where you are on the site. There was also a goal post in this field which when full does not feel big enough for football matches. We did raise our concerns when we were there and have made a formal complaint since. All we were told that any booking could be placed in that field, it was pot luck, just to add that this was not a last minute booking for us, we booked 4 months before our stay so not sure how we drew the short straw. This is not an overflow field and they do not feel that this field is any less of a standard than the other field - in our opinion there is no comparison between the two, if they charged less for the second field - fair comment. PLEASE NOTE: WE WERE ADVISED THAT WHEN YOU BOOK YOU CAN NOTE IN THE SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS THAT YOU WOULD NOT LIKE TO BE PLACED IN THIS FIELD (DIGBY'S) SO WE WOULD LIKE TO SHARE THAT INFORMATION AS IT IS DEFINITELY NOT MADE CLEAR ON THEIR WEBSITE. So, if you want to be in a nicely set out field with a proper roadway leading into it, lighting, wash-up facilities and a water tap, close to the nice toilets and showers, away from the noise of bar and without running the risk of you or your caravan being hit by a football or spraining your ankle on your way to the toilets - ask not to be put in Digby's field!!!

The rockstar bingo was fun. The junior quad biking was an amazing experience. The pitch size was good. The crazy golf was fun for everyone. Staff were all very helpful and kind. Roast dinners were very tasty. Pub drink prices were reasonable. Soft play was well organised and youngest found fun. Full English breakfast very nice.

    Disliked:

The blocked toilets, one night stayers making a lot of noise and drinking a bit too much. Very wet and grassy toilets. Lack of soap in bathrooms at times. Disappointed with flavours in the pizzas pizza night. Went our for day and pur wind break had been knocked down. Areas looking tired ragwort, wobbly rails to stairs, lights not working. Children did the orientation task but areas not clear for walking.
Cars moving alot past quiet time.

We loved the top field only 6 pitches and we had the whole field to ourselves for a day. Great things to do if you have the money. Not bad prices but when you have a lot of children can be pricey.

    Disliked:

There was a blocked toilet in the top toilet block for three days and the lights in the block wasn’t detecting anyone walking in there at night so didn’t feel save going to those toilets at night. I did think the maintenance was poor also the park is a lovely little park but some parents think it’s ok to just let their kids go off and play and not supervise them and then the kids go breaking equipment.
