It's free, quick and easy!
- Well-equipped RV resort on Highway 90, 10 minutes' drive from Benson
- 15 minutes' drive from Kartchner Caverns State Park
- Busy weekly programme of activities and social events
Exercise classes. Line dancing. Card bingo nights. Hiking club. And potluck dinners... it’s all go for guests at Cochise Terrace RV Resort: stay a couple of nights or move in for longer to get stuck in.
And all that’s before you’ve even scheduled in having a dip in the outdoor swimming pool, lounging in the hot tub or sharpening up your golf technique on the putting green.... or perhaps you might prefer a couple of rounds of pool... or and browsing the library in the Crow’s Nest clubhouse, with perhaps a bit of further chat in the sociable lounge area...?
Such diary-filling is of course entirely optional, and no one could possibly object if you’d prefer to simply sit out in the Jackrabbit Gulch picnic area and have a cold beer while gazing out over the foothills of the Whetstone mountains.
When (if?) you do eventually find time to exit the campground, it will take you 10 minutes or so to drive up to Benson for supermarkets and restaurants.
Getting here couldn’t be easier – roll your rig off Interstate 10 onto Highway 90 just outside the town of Benson and Cochise awaits just a mile down the road. You’ll be hooked up to all the services you need, including electricity, sewerage and cable TV; free wifi access is also on offer.
Up at the clubhouse there are sparklingly clean restrooms and showers, along with a well-equipped laundry –handily located near the activity room, so you can play pool or read a book while the washing machine does its thing.

Local attractions
A 15-minute drive south from the resort takes you to Kartchner Caverns State Park, where you can take a tour of the underground limestone caves and see some spectacular formations including one of the world’s longest straw stalactites (21 feet and three inches, fact fans).
Bring your walking boots to head out onto one of the trails to spot some of the park’s resident wildlife – bats, deer, coyotes, lizards and hummingbirds are among the things you should keep your eyes peeled for. If you’ve got a particular interest in hummingbirds, drive down to Ramsey Canyon (40 minutes), which is home to several species of the tiny birds.
History comes to life in the old Wild West town of Tombstone (known as the Town Too Tough To Die), 40 minutes from Cochise Terrace. Take a tour in a horse-drawn cart or on a trolleybus, see live gunfights and pan for gold as you explore the well-preserved streets and buildings.
