  • Small, quiet site by a stream on the edge of Saas-Grund
  • Close to ski lifts, hiking trails and Kreuzboden family attractions
  • Wellness area, Jacuzzi and playground on site; dogs welcome
If you’ve been feeling a little cooped up indoors lately, here’s a place that should get your pulse going a bit… Camping Schoenblick is just on the edge of the mountain village of Saas-Grund, and it’s in a prime spot for getting out and about to all sorts of activities around the scenic Saas Valley. How you’ll fill your days depends on what season you choose: in summer you may find yourself hiking, riding bikes or climbing in the surrounding mountains, while in the winter months you’ll be in a handy position for downhill skiing, ski touring, ice climbing and snowshoeing (and you can pick up cross-country skiing routes directly from the site as well). The scenic surroundings mean all your outings are likely to be pretty fabulous – but possibly also pretty tiring, so it’s good to know that a quiet spot awaits back on site for you to chill out in. Camping Schoenblick is a small site on an undulating grass meadow in a sunny spot next to a stream, with several trees around for those times when you need a snooze in the shade. It’s also got gorgeous views of the Mischabel, forming a fab backdrop for a relaxing afternoon or an evening by the barbecue. Several amenities have been installed here to help you along with your relaxation time – these include a wellness area (with whirlpool and steam shower) and an outdoor Jacuzzi to soak away any muscle aches, along with handy practicalities like a launderette, a wood grill and toilets and showers. A playground is on site to entertain kids (if they have any energy left) and there’s a communal tipi where you can all gather with fellow guests.

Local attractions

Saas-Grund is a pretty village full of traditional houses, and it’s also quite the hub for activities in all seasons. Serious hikers might be coming along here to pick up Alpine trails like the Almagelleralp and Gspon routes, but there are also plenty of gentler options around (such as the Alpine Flower Trail or Wellness and Yoga Trail) for those who’d like something a bit easier. Summer guests can also take the Kreuzboden cable car for the Bike Skills Park, animal park and adventure playgrounds, or go fishing in Kreuzbodensee. If you’re coming along in winter, you’ll have access to several nearby ski lifts and ski schools, plus extra activities like ice climbing and snowshoeing – and, if you’re feeling intrepid, how about a ride on the longest toboggan run in the Saas Valley? The 11-kilometre route offers up some fabulous views as well as a real adrenaline hit.
