  • Swimming, canoeing, boating, fishing and lakeside sauna
Linneryds Camping is a peaceful lakeside site in Kronoberg County, around 35 minutes' drive from the province capital, Växjö. Pitches are grassy and level and trees and shrubs frame the site. Facilities include a baking lake with a lakeside sauna and a jetty; there are also several bathing areas, including shallow paddling area suitable for young kids and deeper water for confident swimmers. You can also rent a canoe to explore the shoreline or a rowing boat or motorboat if you want to try your hand at fishing. Life jackets in all sizes are available to hire too. The onsite café serves fresh rolls and other breakfast bits in the morning, and waffles, soup, salads and pizza at lunch and dinner. For ice cream and cold drinks you can head over to the kiosk, or you'll find hamburgers, schnitzel and bratwurst on the menu at the snack bar. Among the amenities are eight toilets, six showers (three ladies' and three gents') and one accessible toilet and shower. Also at your disposal are two communal kitchens – both with an oven, a microwave, a refrigerator and a dishwasher – and a laundry room with a washing machine, a tumble dryer and an iron.

Local attractions

Direct from the site you can go lake swimming, paddling or canoeing. You can also buy yourself a fishing licence and hire a boat to catch yourself a small fish or two. There are lots of bike paths that network the local neighbourhood, and you can grab yourself a detailed map from reception to go off and explore with. Keen anglers can drive out to Åsnen Lake and the river Mörrumsån, two of Sweden's best fishing areas, where they can catch salmon, pike and trout. Take a trip out to the Bjurkärr Nature Reserve, around an hour's drive away, where you'll find an ancient woodland of beech and oak. There are two waymarked trails that run through the forest – one of them being adapted to accommodate those with limited mobility – and you'll also be able to do a bit of birdwatching during the summer for species like the spotted woodpecker, the stock dove, the red-breasted flycatcher and the wood warbler.
