- Cool glamping site close to the beach in Los Caños de Meca
- A 50-minutes drive from Cádiz; several beaches within walking distance
- Well-equipped tents shaded by trees in La Breña Natural Park
The little Andalusia village of Los Caños de Meca was once something of a hippie hangout, and its chilled-out atmosphere lives on, with life centred firmly around fun times on its white sand beach – a popular spot with surfers, windsurfers, naturists and all manner of beachgoers.
The town’s laidback lifestyle is very much in evidence at Kampaoh Los Caños, where glamping tents sit in the shade of the tall pine trees of La Breña Natural Park. It’s about a five-minute walk to Playa del Pirata from here, so you’ll easily be able to wander down to the sea whenever you like, and then retreat to your cool and comfortable tent during the heat of the day. The beach is also home to the legendary Jaima Meccarola bar/restaurant – so evening drinks and meals are within easy reach too.
Life on site has been kept pretty simple – this isn’t a place with lots of noisy entertainments or leisure facilities, but one where you’ll just be able to relax and take things at your own pace. The tents are set up ready and waiting for guests to arrive, with bed linen provided along with several other handy extras including towels, a cool box and cooking kit.

Local attractions
One particularly excellent aspect of this site is that you'll be able to get out and about easily to see some of your surroundings on foot or by bike. Start by heading straight out into La Breña Natural Park, behind the site, to places like Torre de Meca and the Mirador de los Caños.
Along the coast, you can walk to Playa de la Cortina in about 20 minutes, or to Playa de Faro in half an hour, stopping along the way at Faro de Trafalgar lighthouse and Yacimiento Arqueológico de Caños de Meca - Villa Romana.
Other seaside options nearby include Zahora (10 minutes by bike), for horse riding and more beaches, Zahara de los Atunes (25 minutes' drive) for local seafood, or the coastal city of Cádiz (50 minutes) to explore its historic attractions.
Away from the coast, both the ‘white town' of Vejer de la Frontera (20 minutes) and the outdoor art museum Fundación NMAC (25 minutes) are worth a visit.
