Liked: Sehr netter Empfang. Sehr entspannt und nah an Groningen sodass man es zwar ländlich hat aber auch schnell in dir Stadt kann. Eher für Paare oder Freunde ohne Kinder zu empfehlen.

Disliked: Die Toiletten sind halb draußen und sehr dunkel abends.

Liked: We waren met de vouwwagen. Hadden stroom en water op de plaats met prachtig uitzicht op het Reitdiep. De plekken hebben veel groen eromheen. Het sanitair was elke dag schoon. Je kon lekker eten op de camping en een bootje huren. Zwemmen in het Reitdiep was ook heerlijk. Prachtige omgeving.

Disliked: Dat er geen afgesloten ruimte is om je te wassen. Je kan alleen douchen voor €0,50.

Liked: Es war wunderschön, direkt am Kanal. Sanitäranlagen waren sehr sauber, der Mann dem das Ganze gehört war super nett. Alles in allem waren wir sehr zufrieden. Es ist ruhig und alle die dort auch gecampt haben waren nett.

Liked: This was a beautiful site , set amongst apple orchards. The owners were lovely and the facilities really well kept.

Disliked: Having to pay extra for the showers

Disliked: Attitude of owner when I turned up saying my campervan looked like a hearse and I should fly a black flag. Reception was like your grandads garden shed, toilets with concrete floors open to the elements. Pitch allocated was next to entrance, facilities terrible

Liked: Very friendly and helpful owners. Toilets and all facilities kept very clean. Grounds/pitches well kept. Large pitches, with some shade if you want it. View of the river/ bridge and jetty all from the pitch we had. Easy access to the water for swimming, boating etc. Although there was an extra charge of 50 cents for a shower, the water was hot and lasted plenty of time.

Disliked: Nothing.

Local attractions

There are some lovely landscapes to explore around here, whether you’re setting out on the water, taking a walk or pedalling your bike. Keeping quite local, there are nice bike paths taking you to the pretty villages of Winsum and Niehove (both about half an hour by bike), or you could head up to Het Hoogeland open-air museum (45 minutes’ cycle/15 minutes’ drive) to see how people lived and worked in the past. A little further afield, you may like to explore the Wadden Sea coastline, perhaps taking a trip to the island of Schiermonnikoog for a walk across the mudflats or pottering between the dykes on the mainland. The Lauwersmeer National Park is a great place to spend time too, or you could meet some of the local wildlife at the seal sanctuary in Pieterburen (both 15 minutes’ drive). A day out in Groningen (25 minutes) might involve climbing the Martinitoren, strolling through the colourful Old Town and a tour of the excellent Groninger Museum.
