- Christian site in the Vecht region near Hardenberg
- Several accommodation fields with a playground in each
- Springwater pool, trampolines, outdoor paddling pool and lots of space
What a handsome East Netherlands haven. Familiepark De Vechtvallei near Hardenberg in Overijssel is a peaceful place of green surroundings, loads of serene sunbathing spots and piles of privacy and space for all: pack your sunbathing blankie and all the books you can carry, for you'll want to lounge around here for max relaxing.
Kids will have a field day at all the space and playful options on this family park, including trampolines to bounce around on, table tennis to test their skills at, an indoor heated springwater pool and an outdoor paddling pool to splash around in. There are several play areas too: accommodation is spread across several fields, each with its own central playground.
Each pitch is separated by low hedges for privacy, for those days when your highest ambition is to take to the grass for hours' worth of lazing, and you're allowed barbecues on site so you can get on with prepping dinner in peace. If your determinedly idle vibe doesn't include anything with barbecue tongs or food prep, take the crew over to the cafeteria instead for meals from Monday to Saturday.
Bike hire on site too, a football field, a volleyball court and regular recreation in high season are also around if you desire to get active. There's a fishing pond at one end of the site too for getting just a teensy bit energetic – be sure to settle down for a snooze in these serene surroundings afterwards.

Local attractions
Familiepark De Vechtvallei is in the region of the Vecht, the branch of the Rhine flowing from Utrecht to the lake of IIJmeer at Muiden. Woodland is all around here too, surrounding hiking and biking trails as well as a leisure lake with a sandy beach.
For a scenic bike ride, pedal the six kilometres or so to Hardenberg, where keen wheelers can take one of the several cycling paths around the town. There's also a two-kilometre ride to the Oldemeijer, a play pond in Hardenberg forest with a beach and its own island.
Fishing, canoeing and sailing can all be arranged in the Vecht just outside the site. A must-do in the region too is a boat trip along the waters to gawp at the buitenplaats, the country estates built by rich noblemen in the 17th and 18th centuries (like the Venetians who did the same along the Brenta Canal, this could and did get a tad competitive).
