What a great spot for a Liguria summer break… Camping Pian dei Boschi is a mere 10 minutes’ walk from the beach in Pietra Ligure, and it’s filled with trees to ensure there are plenty of nice shaded spots on hand when you need a bit of chillout time. It’s also a most handy location for getting out to explore the surrounding area, known as the Riviera delle Palme – as well as several stretches of sandy beach nearby, you can also get out to explore local caves, poke about in ancient villages, try outdoor activities like mountain biking and climbing, or plan family days out at the nearby waterpark. Getting the essentials sorted should be pretty straightforward too, as there are plenty of places to eat and shop within walking distance (and also a train station if you fancy getting out to explore without the car). A shuttle runs down to the equipped area of the beach through the summer too. Not that you actually have to head out to swim, eat or shop if you don’t want to, as there’s a mini market and a restaurant/pizzeria right there on site, along with a swimming pool and paddling pool (with a sun terrace and loungers alongside too). Other leisure facilities on site include a tennis court, table tennis, playground and an outdoor fitness area, and there’s a programme of kids’ activities and evening entertainment in the summer months.

  • The site does not accept breeds/crossbreeds listed in the Dangerous Dogs Act (i.e. XL Bully, Pit Bull Terrier, Japanese Tosa, Dogo Argentino, and Fila Brasileiro) and/or any of the following: Staffordshire bull terrier, American Staffordshire terrier, Rottweiler, any Mastiff or Tosa.
  • The outdoor swimming pool is open between 13/05 et 14/10 (subject to weather conditions).
  • The bar and/or restaurant is open between 23/03 et 03/11.
  • Entertainment and activities are available between 28/06 and 31/08.
  • The grocery shop is open between 23/03 et 03/11.
  • Dogs are not allowed if you are staying in the accommodation units.
  • We only allow dogs up to 12kg.
  • No cars/motorbikes by the pitch/unit. All cars must be parked in the designated area.
  • Discount cards and gift vouchers cannot be applied to bookings made via Pitchup.com.
  • Reception is unmanned after 7:30 p.m.. Please inform the site while on your way there should you expect to arrive after this time, so that the team can provide information about your unit/pitch.
  • A cable measuring at least 10 metres is needed for the electric hook-ups.
  • Units longer than 7 metres are not allowed.
  • The bar is open between 23/03 and 03/11.

Liked: Esperienza unica, campeggio molto pulito e ordinato, personale gentile e accogliente; Mai visti dei bagni così puliti in qualsiasi altro campeggio. Con amici abbiamo soggiornato 3 giorni e 2 notti in tenda, piazzole molto ampie ed attrezzate, sia per tende che per camper. Sicuramente se dovessi tornare a pietra ligure, non avrei dubbi su dove soggiornare.

Liked: Il campeggio è molto carino, ben curato, comodo da raggiungere in auto, la piscina è un ottima opzione se non si vuole scendere al mare, il personale del campeggio molto gentile.

Disliked: I servizi igienici, vicino alla zona piazzole tende,uno un po’ datato e uno nuovo,li ho trovati non molto puliti, non ho capito se per la frequenza con la quale vengono puliti o il perché pochi rispetto all’utenza

Liked: Entertainment well suited to younger children, but enough fun for all. Very clean washing and toilet facilities. Good size well maintained pool. Professional and organised management Close to Llidl for supplies. Easy walk to a decent beach and interesting old town.

Disliked: Pitches can be hard and dusty Be prepared to bring your own toilet paper Pool is closed 1.30 to 3 each day

Local attractions

The beach is the place to start, of course… in Pietra Ligure it’s a sandy stretch with both free and equipped areas, and plenty of places to pick up drinks and snacks while you sunbathe. To see a bit more of the coastline, hire a boat from the harbour or take a drive to one of the nearby beaches like Il Cavallino Bianco (10 minutes’ drive) or Varigotti (20 minutes). For a change of swimming scenery, try the slides and wave pools at Le Caravelle waterpark (20 minutes). Turning attentions away from the coast, there are some great climbing routes in the hills close to the site, or you can head underground to see prehistoric human footprints at the Grotte di Toirano (20 minutes) or follow the five-kilometre system of caves and lakes at Grotte di Borgio Verezzi (10 minutes). Back up on the surface, take a trip to the medieval walled town of Finalborgo (15 minutes) or set forth for city time in Genoa (an hour and 10 minutes) to see Europe’s biggest aquarium, ride the scenic Bigo elevator and visit the maritime museum.
