Views, views and oh so many more fab fab views… all can be surveyed from your kingdom at Apollon Camping. And ancient sights: it's only a kilometre and a half from the temples and buildings of aged oracle site Delphi: can you see yourself staying here for quite some time...? Book in at Apollon for stays in a smashing Mount Parnassus setting for spectacular vistas over the Corinthian Gulf and the region's famed and vast olive tree valley; all the terraced pitches on site look directly over the gulf, and all are surrounded by trees. Apollon is close to the golden beaches and clear waters of this stretch of Greek coast, but if you do want to loaf around on site, you can always have a break from the Mediterranean sun with a dip in the site pool. A pool bar is to hand too for takeaway food and drinks – sun loungers and parasols of course included. The friendly restaurant serves heavenly local food or you can pick up supplies in the shop to make your own meals. A bus stop is right outside for when you're ready to go out exploring, or take the free site shuttle to Delphi, running several times a day. Apollon Camping also has free wifi.

Great views from this shaded campsite. Clean facilities and a lovely pool are highlights, with the restaurant also scoring well. Most love it, though some found pegs tough to hammer in and missed fridges. Credit card issues for some too.

Liked Μείναμε πολύ ευχαριστημένοι!! Εξαιρετική τοποθεσία με φανταστική θέα . Ήσυχο με εξαιρετικό προσωπικό. Πισίνα πεντακάθαρη, τουαλέτες πεντακάθαρες όλες τις ώρες της ημέρας. Θα ξανά ερχόμουν εννοείται!

Disliked Το μόνο που θα ηθελα για να το βάζα 10/10 είναι ότι δεν είχε ψυγεία ! Το οποίο είναι θέμα ειδικά όταν υπάρχουν μικρά παιδιά !

Liked Pool was lovely, the pitches have an amazing view and all amenities were very clean. Ignore the 1 star review as I think it was done in error. Great location for exploring Delphi.

Liked Camping agréable avec une belle piscine. Belle vue sur la vallée des oliviers. Par contre, c'est le troisieme sejour que nous passons au camping apollon et je n'ai jamais pu payer par carte de crédit, le gérant évoque toujours un problème de réseau avec la banque...bizarre !

Local attractions

If you're in Greece for its culture and history – or in fact if you're anywhere in Greece for any reason – you have to see the world-famed ancient sanctuary of Delphi, once the place of the Greek oracle and these days a UNESCO World Heritage Site for its ancient buildings and temples. (For eats and drinks, the modern town is right next door.) Also have a long look at the Korikion Andron cave, a huge cavern on Mount Parnassos's eastern slope that was the legendary home of the god Panas and the Corikian Nymphs (Apollo was worshipped here too), and at the fab Byzantine monastery of Hosios Loukas: follow the road to Athens and turn to the right through the town of Distomo six kilometres after the town of Arachova. If you'd rather just stick to Apollon Camping's surroundings of coastline and beach, some sturdy shoes and your swimming kit is all you need to hike around some stunning local paths. Highly recommended are the hour-long hike in spectacular surrounds from Delphi up to Mount Parnassos; the Delphi – Kirra – Itea path 15 kilometres away, leading from Delphi to the coast via some beaut beaches, and Delphi -- Galaxidi 35 kilometres away: follow the coastal road to Nafpaktos to Galaxidi, a fishing village with gorgeous sandy beaches, a naval museum and the historical church of Saint Nikolas.
