Electric optional hardstanding and grass touring pitch

Liked: The spacious site, 10 amp hook up (16 would have been better!), beautiful scenery and close proximity to service points. The local cycle routes were extensive and very safe from cars. Good price. The wifi had to be paid for but it was reasonably priced and reliable. The receptionist was very helpful and smiled patiently whilst I practiced my french!

Disliked: The pool was not open. This was a disappointment as we like to swim for exercise every day even if the temperatures are less than tropical at this time of year.

Local attractions

With its coastal habitats, inland seas and mudflats, the Parc Naturel Marin de l’Estuaire de la Gironde (10 minutes’ walk) provides shelter to a large number of migratory birds, including ducks and geese. If you’re lucky, you might also be able to spot bottlenose and common dolphins, plus grey seals. Sitting on a small island in the middle of the Gironde estuary, the Cordouan Lighthouse can be accessed only by boat from either Royan (15 minutes’ drive) or Le Verdon-sur-Mer (50 minutes). Climb the 301 steps to the top of this elegant 17th-century beacon (a UNESCO World Heritage Site) to take in far-reaching views of the coastline. Zoo La Palmyre (25 minutes) is home to hundreds of animals – from big cats to primates, and from crocodiles to birds like colourful flamingoes and macaws. There are shows featuring sea lions and bird displays, or you can feed zoo-supplied corn to the resident giraffes and zebras.

Booking terms and conditions

Pitches

A cable measuring at least 25 metres is needed for the electric hook-ups.

Admission

Admission is only permitted after registering at reception.
All guests spending the night at the park must present their ID at the reception desk and sign registration forms.

General

Bookings are nominative and non-transferable.
Discount cards and gift vouchers cannot be applied to bookings made via Pitchup.com.

Occupancy

Group bookings of 3 or more units (e.g. tent, touring caravan, motorhome or accommodation hire) travelling together are not permitted via Pitchup.com.

Arrivals and departures

Late arrivals must notify the park as soon as possible. Your booking will be held for 24 hours. After this period the management reserves the right to relet your unit.

Extras

Motorbike(s) can be brought instead of the car(s) included.

Safety

No charcoal barbecues allowed.

Occupancy

No hen/stag parties permitted via Pitchup.com.

Arrivals and departures

No refunds/discounts for inclement weather, late arrivals or early departures.
