As Alsace locations go, this is a particularly fine one… Camping Onlycamp Vauban is just on the edge of Neuf-Brisach, so it’s got both a peaceful atmosphere and easy access to shops, restaurants and other amenities when you need them. This is also a great location for days out – Colmar and Mulhouse are both close by, and the German border is just a few kilometres away for jaunts over the border to places like Freiburg. The surrounding area is packed with places for a nature-filled day out or family attractions for the kids. Long-distance cyclists, take note – this is a handy site to know about, close to the EuroVelo 6 route and well set up with handy amenities including a bike storage facility. As for other facilities, well, there’s plenty here to make life nice and comfortable, whether you’re stopping over for a night or settling in for a longer break. A pétanque court and play area have been installed for a bit of gentle entertainment, and there’s a bar where you can order local beers, wine and cocktails (surely a holiday essential…). Food is also easily sorted, with a small grocery shop for self-caterers and a snack bar (selling things like pizzas, salads and tartes flambées) for those who’d rather someone else did the cooking. You can also order bread and pastries deliveries in high season. For more foodie options, it’s a 10-minute walk to the centre of town. Essential facilities have been well thought out here, including a motorhome chemical disposal point and heated bathrooms with disabled access.

Disliked Piscina affollata con bimbi che si tuffano sulla gente in acqua senza nessuno del camping che controlla per assicurare la sicurezza.
Di notte non c'è un lampione o una luce in tutto il camping.
La vegetazione non è potata e il camping non curato né mantenuto.

From the manager: Buongiorno, la piscina è sotto la supervisione dei genitori! Per motivi di sicurezza, vietiamo qualsiasi tuffo o salto e interveniamo ogni volta che vediamo una violazione delle norme di sicurezza. Per vostra informazione, abbiamo avuto molta pioggia per 3 settimane e il campeggio è al completo. Ci occupiamo del terreno, poco a poco, ma è impossibile utilizzare alcune macchine in prossimità di persone, tende e roulotte! Le luci sono state spente alcuni anni fa su richiesta dei campeggiatori, per poter ammirare le stelle! Ogni buon campeggiatore ha la sua piccola luce frontale ;) Saremo lieti di darvi il benvenuto la prossima volta.

Near small town 10min walk

Disliked Facilities weren’t very good. Dated and needed upgrading. One block just having one toilets and no showers. No Wifi where as pitch up states there was. Very disappointing

Liked Proximity to toilets ,showers , drinking water, bar area was comfortable,and not too far to walk to town of neuf Brizac ,also in other direction a Intermarche supermarket and DIY place

Liked Ein sehr großes Areal,mit schattigen und sonnigen Plätzen. Man kann frei wählen wo man stehen möchte. Sehr freundlicher junger Mann beim Empfang. Man genießt die Morgenruhe.

Disliked Die Anlage ist in die Jahre gekommen, man könnte viel mehr daraus machen. Ansichts Sache! Wir haben den Welan vermisst!

Lovely site

Disliked Showers very basic didn't use them
Pitch up states can arrive from 2pm but
receprion does not open until 2.30pm so had to wait in the sweltering sun for half an hour

Liked The location was absolutely fantastic for seeing placing like the beautiful Colmar, a short drive away, and Neuf- brisach a short walk away. Both definitely worth visiting, perhaps the most stunning towns in France. The pitches were of a decent size.

Disliked I don’t like leaving negative comments, but the camp site facilitates really needed a complete revamp, they had everything there, showers, toilets, pot wash up, but they were really really run down and didn’t feel at all clean or nice to use. New wash & bathroom facilities would make this camp so much better.

Local attractions

Alsace is a fabulous area for those with an interest in history and culture – and an easy place to start is MAUSA Vauban - Musée d'Art Urbain et du Street Art, 10 minutes’ walk away in Neuf-Brisach. The pretty Old Town in Colmar (25 minutes’ drive) is well worth a visit, as is its Unterlinden Museum (and it’s the capital of Alsatian wine too…) If you’re here to explore the natural landscapes, plot a course to the bird observatory in Marckolsheim (20 minutes) or head to Île du Rhin (10 minutes) for more bird-spotting plus walks, bike rides, fishing and sailing. There’s an excellent zoo in Mulhouse (35 minutes), along with the Cité du Train and Musée National de l’Automobile for those whose interests skew more towards engineering. Days out with the kids might include bouncing about on the trampolines at Xperience Park (35 minutes), mountain biking, archery and clambering through the trees at Form’Aventures, a whole lot of outdoor antics at Waouland, or a barefoot trail, toboggans and waterslide at Wiidoo’Gliss (all an hour's drive).
