- Well-equipped safari tents on a peaceful family site in Dolní Chabry
- A 15-minute drive or 40-minute bus ride from the centre of Prague
- Playground, table tennis and snack bar on site
A stay at Vodatent at Triocamp Praha is a varied beast – it can be all about dipping into Prague’s many attractions, or it can involve chilled-out days using the Dolní Chabry location as a base for taking scenic strolls on the banks of the Vltava river...
No need to sort your schedule too far in advance: you can easily plot your actions on a whim, for getting into the city centre is as straightforward as driving for 15 minutes or (probably preferable to avoid parking issues) flagging down a bus for the 40-minute trip. For rural days, wander through the Draháň-Troja nature park to get to the riverside in an hour or so.
With all this vying for your attention, it’s pleasing to hear you’ll not have to dedicate any time to such tasks as faffing with tents, for the safari tents here are all set up ready to move in to. Beds, outdoor furniture and crockery are all supplied; all you’ll need to do is bring along food to cook at your mobile kitchen (which you can wheel out into the open for alfresco cookery on fine days or leave under cover on less clement ones).
A playground and table tennis are on site to keep the nippers busy until it’s time for dinner. And if you don’t fancy bothering with the kitchen at all, sort meals instead at the site’s snack bar.

Local attractions
Presumably you’ll be wanting to pop in to Prague: as many times as possible is preferable, given the lengthy list of things to see and do. The fine people of UNESCO have put the city on their World Heritage List, and with good reason, as it’s stuffed with historic and cultural things to do.
If you’ve just got a short visit, focus on the big sights: the castle, Charles Bridge, Wenceslas Square and St Vitus Cathedral. Vastly preferable, of course, is to stretch out your city time over a few days, giving space to wander through the Mala Strana (Old Town), take a look at the Beatles-themed Lennon wall or climb Petrin Hill. Obviously, you’ll be wanting to stop for several coffees, local beers and perhaps the odd pork knuckle along the way too...
Away from the historic centre, Prague Zoo (10 minutes’ drive) is a popular pick for those with kids in tow; alternatively, leave the city behind completely for riverside rambles, trips to Terezin Concentration Camp (half an hour) and 14th-century Karlštejn Castle (50 minutes), or a sweet day checking out the gingerbread workshops of Pardubice (an hour and 15 minutes).
