You’ll definitely want to pack several swimming costumes (for the huge waterpark on site and the beach down the road), some comfy shoes (for all the activities and exploring nearby) and something nice to wear in the evenings (for dinner at the restaurant and showtime at the amphitheatre).
Other than that little lot, you can afford to pack fairly light for a stay at SunLodge at Zaton Holiday Resort, two kilometres from Nin – this is a place where the family-sized static caravans come equipped with pretty much everything you’ll need for a holiday, including a well-equipped kitchenette, bedding, a private bathroom and a deck with outdoor furniture.
And the leisure facilities are just as well thought out: starting with a real highlight in the form of one of the biggest outdoor aquatic parks at any resort on Dalmatia’s Adriatic coastline. The pools, slides and water play area are likely to keep you all busy for quite some time – although if you do tire of such things, you can always wander down to the beach in a couple of minutes to take a swim in the sea or try out some watersports.
Time away from the pool and beach? Perhaps spend some time playing football or miniature golf, or see how far you can get in one of the tennis tournaments. Throughout summer there’s an action-packed activity schedule for the kids too, with all sorts of things including archery and riding lessons on the beach.
You’re unlikely to go hungry around here either – the site’s central strip has various restaurants and bars to pick from, plus a good-sized mini market for self-catering supplies.

Local attractions
You won’t have to go far to find activity around here: stroll down to the watersports centre on the beach to sign up for some windsurfing time or diving lessons, or bounce your way across the inflatable assault course.
Time for a stroll? Perhaps wander along the shoreline to another nearby beach, or walk up to Nin (two kilometres away) to explore the cobbled streets of Croatia’s oldest royal city and visit what’s said to be the smallest cathedral in the world.
Equally worth a visit is the bigger town of Zadar (15 minutes’ drive), with a Roman forum, a Romanesque church and some excellent artistic installations in the Sea Organ and Sun Salutation. Zadar harbour is also the place for boat trips to the gorgeous islands of the Kornati National Park.
For more stunning scenery, plan days out at the Krka National Park (an hour’s drive) or Plitvice Lakes National Park (an hour and a half) – the longer drives are very much worth it.

Liked: Met heel het resort, zwembad was er en strand en zee.. lekker eten en het personeel was vriendelijk.
Disliked: Caravan was nie zo proper, hadden last van mieren en de laatste 3 dagen geen warm water. En WiFi konden we niet ontvangen in onze caravan.
