  • Family safari tent site in a scenic Belgian Ardennes setting
  • Canoe trips, mountain biking, climbing and abseiling all arranged
  • Heated pool, miniature golf, outdoor fitness, bar and restaurant
Scenic glamping in the Belgian Ardennes – how safari tent swish. Camping Le Confluent is a well kitted-out site in the Walloon municipality and Liège province, where the Ourthe and Amblève rivers meet. Accommodation in handsome safari tents, each with wifi, a verandah, outdoor seating, and – how clever – a mobile kitchen unit to sort meals under cover or to wheel outside for eats alfresco. Supplies? Sorted: Le Confluent is a few minutes' drive or about 15 minutes' walk from the restaurants and supermarket of Comblain-au-Pont, and two minutes' stroll to a boulangerie for fresh bread and sandwiches. Or let the site team sort you out instead, at Le Confluent's restaurant dishing up meals, drinks and snacks. Activities? Also sorted: as well as the regular events on and around the site – think kids' disco, crafts, bingo and torchlight walks – your leisurely options at Le Confluent include an 18-hole miniature golf course, outdoor fitness kit and a heated outdoor pool. You could also lounge around at the bar for a beer and a session of darts or board games if the weather's less than kind or you feel especially thirsty. There's a viewsome vista of the site and the pool from the restaurant terrace too, so that leisurely pursuits can also include a Belgian beer tipple or two on the terrace... while looking out on your roaming or splashing offspring below.

Local attractions

Camping Le Confluent is placed where two rivers meet (yes, that's what 'confluent' means), for days of rafting, paddling and swimming. Around the area, the Ardennes are famed for their outdoor pursuits: canoe/ kayaking trips, mountain biking, GPS and treasure hunts, archery, climbing and abseiling can all be arranged from the site. Taking sporty option down a notch, you could potter for the day around the shops and restaurants of pretty Aywaille 10 minutes away, or have a day trip to popular spots like the Remouchamps caves and the longest underground river in the world, 15 minutes from the site. For kids, try the rides and amusements of Plopsa Coo (40 minutes) or have an awed look at the animals of Monde Sauvage safari park, 20 minutes away. Province capital Liège is within half an hour.
