Rosebush Holiday Park: Touring caravans

General

  • Peaceful well-maintained park, eight miles from the beach at Newport
  • Around a scenic lake for roach, tench and carp fishing
  • Close to spectacular walks and bike rides around the Preseli Hills

The highest pub in the county is under five minutes' walk from peaceful Rosebush Holiday Park, Pembrokeshire – and if you've been to this cracking part of Wales before, you'll know that means tiptop views come as standard.

As they do on site too: Rosebush is laid out around a handsome ornamental lake (pic time, please), against a backdrop of the Preseli Hills to the north. Trees, woodland and green fields surround the site; around the region, there are more photoworthy scenes from Foel Cwm Cerwyn, the highest peak in the Preseli Hills and reachable within an hour's walk, or heading towards the spectacular Pembrokeshire shoreline at Saundersfoot, Tenby and around the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park.

The site is just outside the hamlet of Rosebush, 20 minutes' drive from Haverfordwest and eight miles from the seaside at Newport. It's a secluded place deep in countryside, with a quiet vibe, a relaxed feel, and many a serene spot to sit at around the lake. Fishing (for roach, tench and four kinds of carp) is available for a daily charge.

Amenities include showers and toilets, chemical disposal, gas sales, a launderette and a washing-up area. Wifi is available, but you may just prefer to gaze out at the scenery laid out before you instead… at the lake, the surrounding hills or at your nosh and ale at the pretty local pub a couple of minutes' stroll away.

Please note

Under 18s must be accompanied by their parents or legal guardians.

Tents are not accepted at this park.

Facilities/activities including fishing are subject to extra charges payable on arrival.

No bachelor/bachelorette parties permitted via Pitchup.com.

Reception is unmanned after 5:30 p.m.. Please inform the park while on your way there should you expect to arrive after this time so that the team can provide information about your unit/site.

Really lovely site, clean and peaceful. The owners were really friendly and helpful. Lovely walks and a lovely local pub serving good food and drinks. Nearest shop is in the next village, it sells almost everything. Cash on arrival only to pay for the Pitches. 🙂

    Disliked:

We were asked by someone staying in the pods to turn our radio down at 5.30pm, but that is no fault of the owners. All others staying close by were very friendly.

Well maintained site with good clean facilities and beautiful sunsets. Great location for exploring the area. Food van and bar onsite (limited hours) as well as laundry. Good for dogs with walks in nearby quarry and lagoon. Wendy and her husband are very welcoming and helpful.

    Disliked:

I would have preferred to pitch the awning on grass, but had to use hard standing instead. Not a major issue and the owner was kind enough to lend me a couple of heavy duty pegs as I was a couple short.

Peaceful, lovely site with lake for fishing. Owners were nice and friendly. Lots of families there and a few static caravans. Lovely area.
If you want to get away from the internet and mobile phone connections then this is ideal as there was no mobile signal, at least not on O2. Digital TV signal was excellent.

    Disliked:

Amenities need updating. Shower and toilet block, where we were pitched close to, was old and outdated. Shower in the ladies block was attached to one of the toilet cubicles. (We have been told that this block is being updated in the winter 2021). Other toilet and shower block has been updated and much better.
Waste-water point was very high and difficult to get your waste water hog over the edge to empty. It was emptied in the same place as the chemical toilet waste disposal which is not very hygienic! It should have separate compartments. Water pressure was very low. Could do with lighting at the paths as it was very dark. Could do with some full service pitches but water pressure would need sorting for that.

What a lovely couple of days away. The owners were welcoming and went above and beyond to help us. The facilities and park were clean and well maintained. I loved enjoying a cuppa first thing before the family woke, sat outside watching the sun rise so tranquil.
Excellent location for visiting different places with Newquay being just under an hour away and lots of other fabulous beaches along the way.

Local attractions

That local pub is Tafarn Sinc, dishing up eats and drinks among the spectacular scenery of the Preseli Hills. The Rosebush team also recommends stocking up on beers from the award-winning Seren Brewing Company half a mile from the park, and on local dairy produce from Pantmawr Farmhouse Cheese, under five minutes' stroll away.

It's a drive of 10 minutes south to the Llys y Fran Country Park and Reservoir, for sailing, waterside cycling, walking and trout fishing, all among more spectacular views and a 100-foot dam. For coastal hikes, access the Pembrokeshire Coast Path from Tenby for the eight-mile hike to Manorbier Castle, a Norman fortress standing above the beach, or start off from The Parrog at Newport for treks to Traethmawr, Morfa Head and Ceibwr.

Family days are easily sorted at Oakwood Theme Park, half an hour away at Narberth, and at Folly Farm, within 35 minutes at Kilgetty.
