  • Off-grid family-friendly site on an old farmstead in West Wales
  • A 25-minute drive to Dolaucothi Gold Mines; castles a short drive away
  • Fridge and ice packs available; phone charging in the farm house
At Bryn y Cadno Camping, you’ll be settling down for a digital detox on an old farmstead in rural Carmarthenshire. Natural, wild and remote are the themes at this site, which is well-situated for exploring the castles, gardens, mountains, steam trains and mines of West Wales, including Dinefwr Castle 15 minutes’ drive away and the Dolaucothi Gold Mines 25 minutes’ drive away. With families and well-behaved dogs welcome, the mobile signal is sparse here and wifi is available in the house in the case of emergencies only. So, you’ll be truly taking some time out with plenty to do in the form of firepits and barbecues instead (and the addition of meadows, woodlands, a river, pond and high hills views towards the Black Mountains and the Brecon Beacons). The facilities on site include toilets and showers, a phone charging point in the farmhouse, a fridge and ice packs available for your coolbox. Glamping guests also have access to their own cooking facilities, showers and compost loos, as well as picnic benches, firepits and grills. Now, how about eateries and boutique shops? This is the story in Llandeilo, 10 minutes’ drive away. There are shops handy for general food shopping or local produce, plus a good selection of pubs and restaurants – with more within 10 minutes’ drive of the site too.
