  • Dog-friendly and peaceful park with rural river views
  • Defined family-friendly and adults-only fields
  • Many walks available nearby
A view… by a river… well of course. Riverview Touring Park in south-west Wales has the scenic River Gwili flowing along part of its boundary: you should settle down here immediately with river view and book. Although the site is in a peaceful rural setting, it's easily reached from Junction 49 of the M4 and other major routes and has easy access to the attractions and activities of Carmarthenshire and south Wales. It faces south, is filled with native trees, wildflowers and wildlife as well as the river views, and covers six acres with a woodland walk linking to the five-acre hay meadow – both topping spots for strolls for walking the dog. (Another walk is available across the bridge and up a track skirting a wooded valley.) Riverview is owned by Sian and Andy, who live on site with the mission of helping guests have as peaceful and enjoyable a stay as possible. The facilities they've added include four sinks and drainers for washing up, and a modern toilet and shower block with a family room, disabled access and (always a winner) underfloor heating. Everyday essentials like milk, bread, soft drinks, cakes, sweets and some local produce are available in the small shop at reception, along with free-range eggs when the chickens are in production and local bacon and sausages when available.

Electric optional hardstanding touring pitch

Liked: Very helpful at check in and accommodating of my disability. Loved the adult only field was so quiet and peaceful just hearing birds and the river. The shop was lovely and the ice cream was delicious. Loved that there was food and drink on site and although we didn’t use looked like good children’s facilities. Loved it so much that before we had even left that Sunday we had booked again to return 3 weeks later, I can see this site becoming a favourite. While the pay as you use electricity seems scary the first time you use it (especially the amount of cups of coffee my husband makes) I was very pleasantly surprised how little we used. Toilets were spotless and well maintained.

Electric optional hardstanding touring pitch

Liked: Quiet, clean, showers you don't have to keep pressing the button for, easy to get to, good pitch size.

Disliked: Hose could be longer on the MH stand outside reception. Could do with a bench/seat in the showers to get changed.

Electric optional hardstanding touring pitch

Liked: Good size level pitch, electric hook up, toilet and shower facilities, shop on site.

Disliked: Noise from traffic during the night due to position of site being close to a busy dual carriageway. No WiFi even though the information leaflet provided on arrival states satellite WiFi available.

Electric optional hardstanding touring pitch

Liked: Immaculate pitches Completely level Spotlessly clean toilet/shower block Secure coded barrier entrance Excellent fresh water and emptying facilities, undercover. Reception/shop stocking essentials Generally very well maintained

Disliked: Pay-at-the-end electric on top of pitch fee seemed a bit penny-pinching. Our electric after three nights was £1.12, a bit petty.

Electric optional hardstanding touring pitch

Liked: A nice relaxed atmosphere, reasonably level pitches. A great place if you want to chill and read a book whilst listening to the babling waters of the river. Great facilities with plenty of hot water. The twinkling lights of the weekend bar was very inviting and the food van sold good hearty food at a great price.

Disliked: We couldn’t find any fault with the site itself but there were no accessible footpaths for walking.
