Non-electric grass and earth tent or trailer tent pitch
Liked: Lovely small campsite in a quiet location on the edge of Hanmer village. The owners were so helpful and friendly and gave us lots of local information on walks, places to eat, nearby villages etc. The people staying at the campsite were the nicest people, very respectful and friendly. We stayed on a non-electric pitch, the ground was free of stones and rocks and made for an easy pitch. If you have children there are plenty of outdoor games in the communal area, cricket, croquet, table tennis, jenga. The outdoor toilet and outdoor shower were great. There is also an indoor bathroom with shower, toilet etc. The owners also keep free range chickens and the sell the eggs. It is located in glorious British countryside on the Welsh Borders.
Disliked: Nothing

Liked: Great pitches, slightly sloping. Showers indoor and out, kitchen area with toaster kettle and washing up facilities, washing up liquid provided. Free range eggs and jams, honey for sale. The couple who run the farm, sue and jack never stopped, carrying wood, cleaning the facilities. Always had time for a chat.

Non-electric grass and earth tent or trailer tent pitch
Liked: Friendly couple who run the campsite. The sheep, chickens, pecocks, cat. Lovely green space surrounded by trees and fields. 3 different showers and toilets to choose from. The barn has places to sit, cook and play games. Lovely area, enjoyed trips out to the aqueducts and to Ellesmere, as well as having a dip in the mere in the village. Lots of little touches at the campsite, like washing up liquid and shower gel. Jam for sale but sadly didn't get a chance to buy any as the havens opened as we were leaving and we needed to get home.
Disliked: I've given 5 stars for wifi but I don't know if they have wi fi. It doesn't seem fair to mark down for this as it's not something I expect from this sort of campsite.

Liked: Really nice and quiet here, the owners are really nice and helpful, our kids enjoyed looking at the animals that are on site too. One great thing was that we could have a little campfire each night which we find really finishes the day off. Would will definitely be returning next year

Liked: Lovely accommodating campsite! We started for one night after spending the day at alderford lake. Animals were a nice surprise, great facilities, shower, toilet, brew station, covered seating area. Very nice wild swim spot just a 2 minute drive away in the village, I would stay again and recommend this to all.
