Get your alpaca fix, watersports fix and barbecue fix in one go at Alpaca My Bags Glamping. How? The small family-run site has a set of bell tents, fully furnished with carpets, fairy lights, tables, seating areas, full-sized beds, decorative cushions and throws – but that’s not all. There’s a beach and watersports package available, which includes jet skiing rides, kayaking and paddleboarding on a beach a short drive away.
You might be sold just on the idea of meeting baby alpacas and miniature ponies… or it might be the fact that there’s the opportunity to hand feed the llamas that has you jumping out of your seat. There are firepits and barbecues available for guests at no extra cost, so a family cook-off is also very much on the cards too.
Finish all of that off with a visit to the licensed on-site bar, which is stocked with alcoholic bevs, snacks and a pool table (challenge your other half to a match, perhaps?). Pets and group bookings are both very welcome. All have access to a communal shower and toilet block on site.
The animals of Alpaca My Bags Glamping are gorgeous,of course. There are llamas, alpacas, miniature ponies, a baby goat and many more creatures. Based in Pentraeth, down a mile-long road and surrounded by fields with no passing traffic, it’s bound to tick your boxes if you’re looking for a relaxing getaway. Plus, Beaumaris is only 15 minutes’ drive away.

Medieval and Georgian architecture and a castle built by Edward I… You bet that Beaumaris (15 minutes’ drive) is a top spot for history aficionados. Wildlife fans, on the other hand? They can get straight to investigating Niwbwrch (25 minutes), which has a sandy beach, dunes and lots of red squirrels (if you’re keen enough to spot them).
Intending for the kids to get some play time in the outdoors? GreenWood Family Park (20 minutes) has mazes, tunnels and magic shows. They can get hands-on at Pili Palas Nature World (10 minutes) too, which specialises in bugs, butterflies and meerkats.
Foel Farm Park (25 minutes) will get them into the role of farmer, with tractor and trailer rides and chances to feed farm animals. If it’s marine life they’re after, or they’re looking to see a close replica of characters like Dory and Nemo, head to the Anglesey Sea Zoo (25 minutes) too.
