Adventurous types, unite, and make your way to Bryn Gloch Caravan and Camping Park. This is the type of place where holidaymakers can hike all day long, and it's peaceful too, on the banks of the river Gwyrfai with views of the Eryri (Snowdonia) mountains and the north Wales countryside. There are walking routes directly from the site – good news for those with dogs or a lust for adventure. One of the UK’s longest heritage railways, the Ffestiniog & Welsh Highland Railways, passes through the site on its 25-mile journey past the foot of Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon). You might want to board it yourself Caernarfon (10 minutes’ drive) and see if you can spot your patch of land as you pass by. That’s after you’ve experienced one of the boat trips that run along the Menai Strait from the quayside below Caernarfon Castle, of course. There’s a very generous serving of facilities at Bryn Gloch Caravan and Camping Park, from heated bathrooms and wifi to playgrounds and a games room. The pitches are spacious, giving you plenty of opportunities to soak in the scenery.

Bryn Gloch: big, flat pitches in gorgeous Snowdonia, great for hikers & families. Staff are super friendly, site’s spotless with top facilities. Lovely riverside spot, play areas & close to Snowdon/Caernarfon Castle. Mostly quiet, though some farm/guest noise & iffy WiFi noted. Worth it though – people love it and plan to come back!

Llywelyn shepherd's hut (no pets, twin)

Liked Nice site with lovely views, clean and warm toilets and shower facilities, well laid out with good sized pitches. We had a full service hard standing for our campervan and the Llewelyn shepherds hut, which was lovely and clean, spacious and warm. Great that fire pits are allowed and lovely to see people sitting around their fires on a freezing cold night.

Disliked Nothing to dislike about the site if you’ve got everything you need. We ran out of gas cooking tea and if there’d have been a pub nearby we may have gone out to eat but we couldn’t be bothered driving anywhere.

Liked Super friendly staff with really clean and excellent facilities. The location was great, quiet and peaceful, yet near to great castles and places to visit. The hardstanding pitch was great and withstood the torrential rain and wind. Loved the fully serviced pitch which worked seemlessly. WiFi was excellent.

Liked Quiet and peaceful site with stunning scenery.
Facilities were excellent, comfortable and clean

Gelert shepherd's hut (double)

Liked Lovely little space. Was so cozy, plenty of space for 2 (I overpack so plenty of space!) , beautiful surroundings. Toilets and showers always clean and plenty of them. Staff were very friendly. Service on site so no need for use of WiFi but a great addition to the place. Close to popular places, llanberis about 20 mins away so lots to do close by.

Disliked Space is very open, not very private if that’s what you’re looking for.

Liked Lovely site, it had everything we needed as a family and some.
Kids loved playing pool and the football pitch
We also loved the very warm welcome when we arrived and the help to move our pitch due to ours on arrival being flooded.
We would most certainly visit this site again maybe in the warmer months.

Disliked The rain and wind causing us to come home a day early, BUT not the sites fault at all.

Electric hardstanding touring pitch

Liked Easy check in. The views are stunning and the grounds and facilities are well maintained and clean. There's lots for kids to do (we didn't have kids this time but will be back with kids for that reason). We only stayed for one night but we will definitely return.

Disliked It's very very dark on a night. Some kind of lighting would be beneficial when going to the toilets and navigating around the site. Our phone torches didn't quite suffice
