What a gorgeous spot for a break in the fresh air of Eryri/Snowdonia National Park. Cae Du Campsite is on the banks of the River Glaslyn less than a mile from the pretty village of Beddgelert. Now, if you’ve heard of Beddgelert, that may well be because it’s known as something of a hub for approachable walking trails, and it’s got a Welsh Highland Railway station – and both of these elements make it a good base for exploring your surroundings. On top of that, the village has its own attraction in the form of Gelert’s Grave, and it’s got several pubs, cafés and craft shops too. The walks from Beddgelert aren’t the only options around here, of course – in fact, one of the national park’s big (literally) attractions is just up the road in the form of Yr Wyddfa/Mount Snowdon. It’ll take you about five minutes to drive to the trailhead for the Watkin Path, passing the pretty Llyn Dinas lake as you go (handy for a post-climb wild swim perhaps?) And there’s plenty more to keep you busy… including a short walk to the excellent Sygun Copper Mine, an outing to the beach in Porthmadog, an adrenaline-filled excursion to Zip World Llechwedd or history-tinged wanders around the castles of Criccieth and Caernarfon. Little bit tired after whichever outing you chose? Well, there’s plenty of space to relax back at the park, and you should hopefully sleep well in these peaceful surroundings. Wifi, a washing-up area, a launderette and bathrooms with toilets and showers are on hand to make life comfortable, and you’ll be allowed to bring a barbecue or light a campfire to finish your day in traditional camping style.

Great spot with stunning mountain views, right by the river and close to Beddgelert. Staff are friendly, pitches are spacious, and facilities are clean. Perfect for hiking Snowdonia. Mostly peaceful, but WiFi can be spotty and some showers are a bit dated. Midges are also mentioned.

Liked Location of the site. Site is beautiful and well maintained. Toilets were always clean. Pitches were a great size. Staff were friendly and helpful. Will 100% be back!

Liked Everything! Very beautiful, close to main points of interest. Easy to pitch (grass was soft), felt safe- drive in through a barrier with number plate recognition. Site was big, but did not feel crowded as areas were separated. Showers & toilets clean, washing machines and dryers available-this was handy after a rainy day on Snowdon. Separate rea for dog walk+bins for doggy bags, area for children to play. Would definitely recommend! No service, but wifi on site. You would not get hot in a tent early in the morning as the sun rises behind a mountain.

Liked Fantastic site with stunning views. Friendly helpful staff who kept the site immaculate. Loads of great walks from the site ( including two lakes) and a short (20 min) walk into Beddgelert. Spacious pitches and very peaceful. We’re planning to return next year.

Liked The location was stunning, the pitch was perfect for us, not too close to the river which was great for us with our younger kids. The staff were very helpful. The toilet, shower and washing up area was very clean and I saw some saying it was dated but I didn't feel like it was, it was exactly what you needed, the water was lovely and warm in the showers.
The location of water and recycling was great, didn't have to go too far to get to the facilities.
The kids and adults had a great time, our first experience camping and we will 10000% be back.

Disliked WiFi if I was being picky was intermittent, but we had stuff downloaded for the kids for in the evening when they wanted to chill.
Bitten alot by the midges, but thats no fault of the campsite!
