  • Adults-only North Wales farm site close to Snowdonia and the coast
  • Conwy, Llandudno and Zip World Betws-y-Coed 20 minutes' drive away
  • Rural location with views over the hills and a small shop on site
It’s a thoroughly grown-up setup at Ty Ni, a peaceful park on a Conwy county farm about 15 minutes’ drive from Colwyn Bay. This is an adults-only park that’s all about creating a quiet space for taking in the gorgeous views over the hills of North Wales. This location, a short hop from both the coast and Snowdonia (Eryri) National Park, makes Ty Ni an excellent base for a varied break, taking in all the attractions this area has to offer. Whether you’re into gardens, castles, gentle walks, adrenaline adventures or seaside days, it’s all here within easy reach… However you choose to fill your days, you’ll be coming back to a well-kept site that’s not been overly developed but has all the essentials on hand, including washing-up sinks, a washing machine, ladies’ and gents’ toilets and showers, plus chemical waste/grey water facilities for tourers. You’ll spot a few eco-friendly touches too, like facilities for recycling and composting waste. Barbecues are permitted at this park if you’d like to spend an evening cooking outdoors while taking in the lovely rural views – there is a small shop on site and the option of several local village shops for additional supplies or bigger supermarkets in places like Colwyn Bay and Llandudno. There are also several pubs and restaurants close by that are worth checking out.

What customers say

This adult-only farm campsite offers peaceful stays with lovely countryside views. Guests loved the friendly owner, Carolyn, spacious pitches, and hot showers. An honesty shop is handy. Facilities are basic but clean and functional. Rural, but a car is handy for exploring.

Electric grass and gravel touring pitch

Liked I upgraded to the hot tub pitch which was amazing! It had a wood burning hot tub, electric sauna, private shower and toilet and fully enclosed kitchen. The kitchen was a god send in the bad weather. We enjoyed eating at the breakfast bar in the kitchen. Towels were provided and oodies which was a nice touch. The cold water in the tub in April takes 3hrs to heat and just over an hr when reheating the following day. We would light the hot tub fire as soon as we got back from days out. After 3 days the water is drained and refilled, and this is the day the hot tub will take longer to heat. I never used the main shower as we had our own on the pitch but my partner used the main showers occasionally and he said they were lovely. The shower on the pitch is lower pressure but fine for me. After a shower it was nice to warm up in the sauna. There are chickens on site that follow you around and visit. horses in the field opposite the pitch. The site is a farm. There was no noise at all which was lovely. There were around 5 other pitches being used. We used the site as a base and travelled around north wales everywhere. The lanes were fine and large compared to Cornwall. The owners give you privacy which we like. To check in we called the number as there isnt really a reception. This pitch also has lots of outdoor seating as well as seating in the hot tub room. We will be returning as this is a perfect site for us being very quiet with nice basic facilities.

Electric grass and gravel touring pitch

Liked Clean, tidy, spacious pitches with country views and a glimpse of the sea in the distance.
The site feels cosy with no real surrounding noise apart from the neighbouring sheep, cows, horses and chickens which are all well behaved.
A warm welcome greeted us from the owner when we arrived who advised us on where everything was etc.
Also the night sky was amazing to look up at due to very little light pollution in the area.
A real feel of being remote, but not and cosy.

Disliked The weather - which wasn’t the greatest but that isn’t their fault 😂🤭.

Honestly, for us there was nothing to dislike.

Electric grass and gravel touring pitch

Liked Had a lovely stay owners very helpful facility’s dated but clean. Plenty hot water only us and one other van staying so no problem getting a shower or using the facilities.

Disliked I had no signal all the time we were there but fortunately my husband had some signal. The roads are very narrow so bigger vans might struggle

Route directions

If you are towing or driving a large motorhome, following the postcode LL22 8BE can take you down some very narrow lanes. At Abergele, turn onto the A547 first and then onto the A548. The Satnav will tell you to turn right all the time but these are narrow roads good only for campervans and smaller vehicles. If yours is longer and wider, keep to the A548 until you reach the B5113 to Colwyn Bay on the right. Carry on along the B5113 – the turning for the site is on the right just past the Holland Arms pub car park, there are signs, and the site is 250 yards on the left down the road. Please take care that you do not enter Pen y Bryn cottages by mistake. What3words location: lived.beeline.flamingo.

Local attractions

There are so many great places to get out for a walk around here, it might be tricky to know where to start. Among the top choices are the pretty village of Llanrwst (15 minutes’ drive) for a stroll to see its famous three-arched bridge, or Capel Curig (half an hour), which is a well-known hub of walking trails. For gentler strolls, plan trips to the likes of 80-acre Bodnant Garden (10 minutes), filled with formal gardens, meadows and champion trees, or check out the castles in Conwy (20 minutes) and Caernarfon (45 minutes). The colourful Italianate village of Portmeirion (55 minutes) is a popular day-trip destination, as is the seaside town of Llandudno (20 minutes) for a walk on the pier and perhaps a tour of the Penderyn distillery followed by a sip of their whisky. Up for a bit more action? Sign up for one of the adrenaline rushes at Zip World Betws-y-Coed (20 minutes) – perhaps a ride on the forest coaster or a go on Europe’s highest swing?
