  • Well-maintained grass touring pitches off the A5 at Pentrefoelas
  • Betws Y Coed 15 minutes' drive; half an hour to Blaenau Ffestiniog
  • Spectacular Snowdonia views; bar-restaurant 400 metres away
If you’d like some spectacular Snowdonia scenery as the backdrop to your break, but you’d rather not have to manoeuvre your caravan or campervan down lots of little winding roads, then this could be the one for you… Ty’n Rhos Caravan Park is a Conwy site in a handy spot just a short way off the A5 at Pentrefoelas, on the edge of Eryri/Snowdonia National Park about 15 minutes’ drive from Betws Y Coed. Easy access from the main road means it should be straightforward enough to get in and out, and to spend time exploring this part of north Wales, taking in the mountains, lakes and adventure activities of the national park, visiting castles or heading up to the north coast. Facilities have been well thought out at this family-run touring park – it’s got a utility room with a washing-up sink, washing machine and tumble dryer as well as a smart toilet/shower block with accessible bathroom. The entrance is monitored by CCTV to make sure the place is safe and secure for all guests and give you peace of mind as you kick back and take in the views of Snowdonia’s mountains and the Hiraethog Hills. You’ll be allowed to bring along a barbecue for meals if you like, but if you’d rather eat out that’s easily done at the local bar-restaurant, which is 400 metres away and open seven days a week.

The campsite's location was surrounded by stunning natural scenery that made it a perfect place to unwind. Additionally, it was conveniently located, and there was a pub nearby . The owner was pleasant and helpful, adding a welcoming touch to the overall experience. I'm definitely looking forward to visiting this campsite again in the future.

Electric grass touring pitch

Liked: Clean and tidy as were the toilets wash area and showers plenty of level pitch space. Rural peaceful with everything we needed. Good Pub within easy walking distance. Five minutes to it, 35 mins back but the beer was great... You get a good size pitch we had electric hook up water points chemical disposal point near by. Site has no shop or fixed on site staff and there are no nearby shops but it was great brilliant views dark and peaceful at night. You need to be self sufficient.

Electric grass touring pitch

Liked: Lovely quiet campsite. Out the way but lots of things to do, see and visit within short distances

Disliked: Well liked and disliked. Lovely grass with slate hardstandings The only downside was there were no paths to either the toilet/shower block or the buckets so when we got torrential rain and parts were flooded you had no option but to walk over the very sodden marshy grass and get very wet feet Also the shower in the ladies toilets didn’t have a shower head so the water basically came out in a near jet of water and the shower curtains in all showers weren’t long enough so the water ended up on the floor outside the shower tray so if you didn’t pick stuff off the floor everything got soaked
