Non-electric grass pitch

Liked: The campsite was very well maintained and in a beautiful location. Our tent pitch was spacious and flat. The toilets/showers and washing up facilities were modern and clean. There was a slide and a large grassed area for the children to play in. We all loved the campsite during the daytime.

Disliked: Location of the tent pitch was adjacent to an A road (tent approx 10m from road). At night and in the early morning the noise from vehicles thundering past was loud and unsettling. Even whilst wearing earplugs I struggled to get to sleep and was woken up every morning around 5am by passing vehicles, including what sounded like large farm vehicles and tractors. My children were also woken early and complained about the noise. WiFi was only available in proximity of the owners house on the site and not from the tent pitch.

Electric grass pitch

Liked: The staff were really friendly and helpful throughout our stay so welcoming and polite. The toilet block and shower block was always clean and well maintained during our three night stay. Close to Nant yr arian visitor centre which was great for biking.

Disliked: Although clean the showers had silly heads which meant the water sprayed around you not on you. A simple easy improvement for what otherwise was amazing facilities. The near by farm was quite loud with quad bike noises early which was simply adding to the noise of the main road closed to the tent pitches at the top of the site. Add in some cows mooing pretty early and it was actually quite a noisy alarm In the mornings.

Electric grass pitch

Liked: The size of the park was not huge and literally gave us what we needed to enjoy some down time with our boys. Open space and great wash facilties and toilet/shower blocks. Clean, well kept and quiet. The views were amazing and even seen some jets go through the mountains. Down the road from a cafe and chocolate shop. The working farm meant we got to watch the sheep being herded, fed and looked after too. WiFi was available and even a small shop onsite selling essentials like milk and ice packs.

Electric grass pitch

Liked: Friendly welcome on arrival, shown to our pitch. Pitch was a nice size and near the children's area which allowed us to relax and still keep an eye on the children as they played. Toilets/showers were nice and clean , lovely hot showers. WiFi on site near reception. So many beautiful walks a short drive away, an amazing location for exploring. We loved our time here and will definitely be back.

Local attractions

Fisherfolk from all over the country use Erwbarfe Farm as a base for some of the best casting off in west Wales: the nearby Rheidol and Ystwyth rivers yield salmon and trout, while rainbow and brown trout can be landed in the local lakes. If you’ve never dabbled in the art, ask the farm staff for a meet with their almost-resident fishing instructor David, who can give fly fishing lessons and advice on site, and/or pick up a free copy of the site’s Angling in the Heart of Pumlumon booklet in reception. The reception information point on site has brochures and leaflets on all the other things to see and do locally: you'd have to read rapid-ly to get through them all, but should certainly include the fab falls of Devil’s Bridge, where visitors including Will Wordsworth have flowed to for many a year. Numerous beaches including New Quay, Borth and Ynys Las (plus dunes) are within easy driving distance of Erwbarfe Farm, as is stunning Cardigan Bay 12 miles away and its award-winning beaches, walks on the Ceredigion Coast Path, smuggling the family into caves, and – with luck – spying the UK’s biggest pod of dolphins.
