  • Small, friendly family-run Ceredigion site two miles from Aberaeron
  • A 10-minute drive to New Quay; walk to the Ceredigion Coast Path
  • Sea views and stunning sunsets on site; dogs and kids welcome
Sea views, stunning sunsets, stacks of space and a splendidly relaxed vibe… what more could you want from a Ceredigion campsite? (If the answer’s ‘somewhere we can take the dogs and kids’, then you’ll be pleased to hear they’re both most welcome here.) Garth View is a place that’s got all of the above – this small family-run site looks out over a lovely valley with the sea in the distance, and it prides itself on offering a warm Welsh welcome to its guests. It’s a no-fuss setup here, favouring simple pleasures over lots of facilities, but it's possible to hire firepits and freeze ice packs and you'll have access to a converted container that houses two bathrooms (including hot-water showers, sinks and toilets), as well as two single toilets and separate washing area. The location here is a real winner too: Garth View is easily accessed from the A487, and it’s within walking distance of the Ceredigion Coast Path and the harbour town of Aberaeron (about two miles away), which has plenty of places to eat. A 200-year-old pub which is dog-friendly and serves homecooked food is a 10-minute walk away and a farm shop, bistro, play barn and event venue is a 20-minute walk away. If you'd rather self cater, a couple of convenience stores are about five minutes’ walk away. The local launderette is a 10-minute walk away. Lots of the best-loved spots along the West Wales coast are within easy reach for days out: it’s a 10-minute drive to New Quay for wildlife-spotting boat trips or half an hour to Cardigan, a hub for watersports and other outdoorsy activities. The beaches of Llangrannog and Tresaith are about 20 minutes away, or you can venture a little further to Aberporth (25 minutes) or Mwnt (35 minutes). For a bigger town, head north to Aberystwyth in just over half an hour.

Non-electric grass pitch

Liked: We had a gorgeous stay at Garth View campsite and the host Giovanna was so lovely and welcoming! We stayed for a long weekend and both camped and used the glamping pod which felt very luxurious. The sunset over the sea at night and you can see the stars on a clear night 🌟 the facilities were great, hot showers and communal fridge / freezer was a huge plus and made our stay very comfortable 😊

Non-electric grass pitch

Liked: really nice facilities, which made our stay very comfortable. apart of spacious shower rooms, which were modern and clean, there is also a honesty shop. A real bonus was the charging point and microwave. we had fantastic stay.

Disliked: the only dislike was the distance to the main road. A bit too close

Non-electric grass pitch

Liked: Was a quiet and friendly campsite, with good amount of space to pitch. The toilets and showers were very cleaned and well maintained. Lovely view of the sea.

Disliked: Found that at a cost of £25 with an mandatory additional £12 to join the 'Green club' was expensive, especially as it was a non electric pitch.

From the manager: Thank you so much for your feedback. I am so pleased you enjoyed our facilities and Garth View in general, It is very much appreciated the extra £12 for the Greener Camping membership made the stay more expensive. Just thought I would share a little of what the Greener Camping club is about which may be of help: Being part of the Greener Camping club promotes small, friendly campsites in fabulous locations and are kind to the environment. That's the ethos behind the Greener Camping Club. They put 'green' at the forefront of camping and created The Greener Camping Club to fill the void for a members-only camping organisation committed to sustainable, responsible, eco-friendly camping. Greener Camping Club campsites provide some of the most nature friendly, low impact, recreational camping experiences in England and Wales. eco-friendly campsites throughout Wales and England, that never fail to provide our camping members with a first class camping experience. In addition to our own 'Trees for Life' tree planting initiative, The Greener Camping Club is a Woodland Trust Corporate Member, helping to create, restore and protect UK woodland. Our ’Trees for Life’ scheme, whereby a tree is planted for every member enrolment. To date there have been over 65,000 trees planted - almost 18,000 trees were planted by our campsites in 2023 and we expect to plant at least as many again in 2024. In this small way, our hope is that the trees go some way to off-setting some of the inevitable environmental impact of even the greenest of holidays. The trees are funded from the membership fee. I hope this helps cushion the cost a little and again I thank you so very much for staying at Garth View - I do hope to welcome you again :) Best Giovanna

Non-electric grass pitch

Liked: This site was perfect for our long weekend away. The site was very easy to find, the directions took us straight there. Gio was very accommodating throughout, always on call if we needed anything. Honestly the perfect host. The price is also super cheap! The pitches are huge! We brought along our 12 man tent, it fit with so much room to spare. With the option to borrow the fire pit, wood, firelighters at a little cost, was perfect for us as we didn't have to bring our own. The facilities - 10/10!! The shower/toilets were not your average camp site amenities, they might as well have been hotel level. Very spacious and clean. With a sink area to clean your hobs and pans too. We took the coastal walk to Aberaeron which takes less than an hour. Driving take 5mins) The views were perfect, it helped that the weather was on our side. Aberaeron town was also lovely, some great places to eat. We had our Dinner at The Hive the first night, and had our lunch at Deli Lazzaro. Deli Lazzaro is listed No.1 on Trip Adviser and it is clear why. Our panini's were lovely and we also took some cakes and cheeses to go. The perfect little cafe to grab a bite. With a Pub and Morrisons just down the road too, everything you needed was in close proximity. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone. Family or couples. Thank you Gio!
