After championship golf courses to sharpen up your swing? Set your sights on Gleneagles Hotel (10 minutes’ drive) for golfing or spa days. Cycling or hiking with some sublime scenery? Loch Leven (25 minutes) has that sorted. Days out that are historical include tours of Stirling Castle (half an hour), seeing the kitchens that prepped banquets and gardens once strolled by royals. There’s the Japanese Garden at Cowden (10 minutes) too, a peaceful but historic stroll.
