What customers say

This well-kept spot boasts spectacular Ben Nevis views, close to Fort William. Reviewers loved the clean, modern facilities, especially the showers, and the welcoming staff. River tent pitches were a big hit. Small gripes: shower timer length and patchy WiFi. Some campers noted noise during peak times. Highly recommended overall.

Electric grass tent pitch

Liked Everything! Location is perfect. Facilities are very modern and clean. Pitch sizes are good.

Disliked Nothing. Although my teenagers would complain about wi-fi, but they didn't mind sitting on the white stones to catch signal 😄

Electric hardstanding touring pitch

Liked Nothing

Disliked We arrived on a Sunday after a long 7 hour drive only to be told our only option for food was pizza although they advertise a restaurant also she said be quick as sells out early we wanted to set up first but no time. Then to be told no restaurant or bar Tuesday/ Wednesday no where local without driving to eat although the website does not state this. The showers were small no private cubicles to clean teeth or wash if you did not want a full shower. Was very disappointed as the website says its open all the time. Our pitch was very open no privacy.Music in the shower block allnight which when your half asleep in the night you dont need !!! Positive sight was clean.wpukd not stay there again or recommend it.

Local attractions

The owners reckon there’s something for everyone around this site, but walkers and cyclists are especially sorted when it comes to activities. If you’re up for a trek, challenge yourself to one of the trails up Ben Nevis, getting intel on which ones to tackle at the mountain range’s visitor centre, just over five minutes’ drive away. If you’re after a lazier lope, amble along the Caledonian Canal from the locks at Neptune's Staircase (25 minutes’ walk) or get your RDA of exercise by nipping in and out of the shops of Fort William (five minutes’ drive). The town has plenty of stores selling mountaineering kit if you need equipment to try out the more intense pursuits – think skiing and downhill biking – available in the area. For a family day out, make your way to the Glenfinnan Viaduct (25 minutes’ drive) and see if the kids recognise it from the Harry Potter films – the Hogwarts Express was filmed crossing this oh-so-scenic bridge. Saving perhaps the best activity till last, top off your trip by paying a visit to the whisky makers at the Ben Nevis Distillery (15 minutes’ walk) for a few drams of one of Scotland’s finest exports.
