What customers say
Spacious, peaceful site with private pitches. Clean showers, compost loos, and a great dog run. Some road noise noted, but Carol's friendly and helpful. Perfect for a digital detox!

Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch
Liked Beautiful location peaceful and picturesque. Really amazing views and the pitches are spacious and well maintained. Lovely little tent for the kids to go to get out of the extreme sun although was pretty hot in there but was comfortable and very cute.
Disliked One tap for drinking water and everything else you need so could cause contamination. Toilets weren’t the best, flies in the toilets were bad and my son came down with D&V during the night and so did myself and my daughter within 12 hours of leaving. Could be a coincidence we didn’t eat anything other than super noodles that day so wasn’t like I could put it down to food we ate. Just a shame we all got sick as the site was beautiful.

Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch
Liked Loved how peaceful it was, plenty of room between pitches to have peace, the facilities were clean and cozy, hot water showers, and washing up, somewhere to keep your cold blocks cold, easy to get to if you follow buckland farm on satnav, some lovely days out if you like wandering villages for quirky shops. Host popped over to give us the run down, super down to earth. Thank you to the team keeping this place looking perfect

Beautiful open spaces, large pitch sizes, amazing views and wildlife.
Non-electric grass touring pitch
Liked We love the big open space, the large pitch sizes not too close to others, the number of birds, the fact that hedgerows etc are kept quite wild to attract wildlife. We like the compost loos and the fire pit/wood availability. We also like that you can self check in and check out without any fuss. We have stayed before and will stay again!
Disliked Nothing, it’s perfect for what we want

Non-electric grass touring pitch
Liked Great site for non electric requirements.
Pitches are huge- easily fitted our 33ft Fifth Wheel Trailer and our Ford pick up truck to pull it (that's 22ft on its own)
Excellent shower and toilet facilities- absolutely spotless!
We haven't got dogs (yet!) But love the fact they have fenced off areas too so your dogs can run free, enjoy themselves without getting into trouble with other dogs or people.
Some great pubs within 10 min drive for incredible food.
Highly recommend and will be spreading the good word on Instagram, Facebook and TripAdvisor. 👍

From the manager: Hi Kyla
Thank you so much for your kind review, and lots of beautiful photos. We loved your set-up and are most envious of your trailer, as were other guests. I didn't see, but I was told your parking of it was spot-on (quote 'that's not the first time they've done that'). Glad you enjoyed your stay with us.
How camping should be done!

Excellent friendly relaxing site with impressive facilities.
Whisper bell tent
Liked This site provided the perfect stop over for us on the way to Cornwall. The site is so well thought out and simple but with everything you need for a comfortable stay.
We booked a Bell tent, the beds were comfortable, the tent clean and spacious.
Our dog was well catered for with the generous dog exercise area and the fire pit and kindling and wood available on site meant I could cook and entertain the kids without completely unpacking our van.
The compost loo’s were very well maintained and affective, even my three year old was happy using them despite being intrigued at first. The spacious plots and great views make this site feel very relaxing.
Excellent value.

We're glad you enjoyed 'Whisper' Bell Tent and the clean and spacious nature of the tent, and that you were able to have a relaxing stay and enjoy the views.
A really nice site , which we would visit again .
Non-electric grass touring pitch
Liked Very quiet site in the middle of nowhere which we liked , the pitches are very spacious . Very well laid out . Nearest pub is about 2 miles away, not a deal breaker .We met the lady owner who was very nice and chatty. Also has a shed with solar panels to charge all your devices as the site is off grid with no ehu.Lovely walks and views . Plenty of pitches away from trees to suit solar powered caravans and mohos .flattish enough and no problems found leaving the wet field . Signs on the access road only visible from one direction and it’s easy to fly past the entrance . Easy fix , add another sign. Only composting toilets available , showers basic but hot . Would we go back? Yes .
Disliked Toilet waste point is a 1000 litre farmyard container , there is no fresh water tap to wash your hands or clean out the caravan waste tank . You have take water from the drinking tap via a bucket or whatever vessel you have to perform the cleaning operation.A bucket was offered but never arrived. Luckily I found a fold up bucket I’d forgotten about. It’s not a great idea having only one tap for both , it’s easy to contaminate the drinking tap with nasties. I personally made a great effort to ensure this didn’t happen. If they would cut the grass leading to the poo tank and fit a tap it would be an easy fix and make life easier.Easy fix ,add a tap and mow the grass .

From the manager: Thank you for your review.
Firstly, your issue with the elsan! Yes, it is basic. This is why we do not advertise it as a facility on our listing. It is there for emergency use if needed. We provide six loos around the site, plus urinals, (which are all maintained and cleaned very regularly and as are the rest of our facilities) so it is really used very little.
When we talked, we agreed that a watering can would help with washing off your waste tank, and I provided you with one immediately. I must have misunderstood that you needed a bucket as well as the watering can. A message or phone call (or I was on site regularly) would have solved this. It is not possible to provide a tap where the elsan tank is because of the run off risk to the stream.
Other than that, I am glad you enjoyed your stay, and we are pleased that you would recommend us to your friends, and visit us again.
It's a shame we lost a few stars - we really do try our best for everyone!
