Seaview Farm: Our view from sea view farm, beautiful

General

  • Wild-style camping with stunning views over the Jurassic Coast
  • A 10-minute drive from Weymouth; 15 minutes to Isle of Portland
  • Footpath leading to the coast path; a short walk to pubs and amenities

Check out those views… True to its name, Seaview Farm is right on the Jurassic Coast, with stunning views out over Chesil Beach and the Fleet Lagoon.

You could quite possibly sit and stare at those views for many hours here (and if you choose to do that, you may be pleased to know that you’re welcome to spark up a barbecue for cooking and keeping warm while you watch the sunset over the sea).

Not content with sitting still? This is a cracking location for walkers in particular: footpaths lead off from the farm in all directions, including one that heads off down towards the South West Coast Path and beyond to the Isle of Portland. A supermarket, a clutch of takeaways and several pubs are within walking distance too.

You could, in fact, ditch the car for much of your stay at this Dorset site: there’s a bus stop a short walk away for jaunts around the area by public transport. If you are driving, however, you can get to Weymouth town centre and beach with a journey of less than 10 minutes, to Durdle Door or West Bay in about half an hour, or inland to the Cerne Abbas Giant in a similar amount of time.

This is a wild-style stay with pitches on a spacious and slightly sloping field accessed via a track. There are no electrical connections here, but guests will have access to water and regularly serviced portaloos and portable showers.

Please note

At least one of the party members must be aged 18 or over.

Under 18s must be accompanied by their parents or legal guardians.

Guests are advised to bring a good quality flashlight with them as parts of the park are unlit.

No bachelor/bachelorette parties permitted via Pitchup.com.

No naked flames are allowed inside the hired accommodation units.

This campsite was fantastic, clean and easy access to showers, toilets, washing up sink, water, the sea, nice walks shops.
Feels like you are out in the countryside with easy access to shops and a the seaside town of Weymouth.
The hosts were so lovely, checked in on us briefly to make sure we were settled and were very accomodating.
Great size plots and they attract a very nice type of people.
Lots if different types of campers enjoying the outdoors.

I really don't know what to day. The toilets fill up quick even though they have a bunch but then next time i went they were emptied.
Shower head was broken one time a went but then when i went back it was fixed.
Really cant complain with showers, toilets, peace and quiet and a great view.

My partner and I enjoyed a fantastic long weekend at Seaview Farm Camping! Nicky was a gracious and helpful host, providing us with plentiful logs and recommendations that made our stay extra comfortable. The site is a dream for anyone looking for the feeling of wild camping, plus a few helpful comforts (toilets, wash-up sink, temp showers, optional fire pit hire). Beautiful views of the Fleet Lagoon, nearby hiking paths and a grocery store within walking distance of the site made it an easy choice for two people looking to camp without cars. Highly recommend Seaview Farm for anyone looking to relax into a weekend on the Jurassic Coast!

Local attractions

You’re bound to want to explore the Dorset coastline a little further once you’ve spied the sea from the site, so set off for a stroll along the coast path or plot a course to Weymouth (10 minutes’ drive) to play on the sand or meet the marine creatures at the Sea Life Centre. A couple of Dorset’s main icons – Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door – are about half an hour away by car, but there are plenty of quieter corners around to visit too.

If you’re keen to give your hiking boots a good workout, start with a wander around the Hardy Monument or explore trails in the Valley of Stones National Nature Reserve (both 10 minutes’ drive). Mix in a bit of history as you walk with outings to Portland Castle or Jordan Hill Roman Temple (both 15 minutes) or get up close to the Cerne Giant (half an hour).

For more days out, try Abbotsbury (15 minutes) for the swannery and subtropical gardens or Dorchester (20 minutes) for the dinosaur and teddy bear museums and Maiden Castle fort.

Must see

  • Radipole Lake Nature Reserve (3.0 kilometres)
  • Weymouth Sea Life Park and Marine Sanctuary (4.2 kilometres)
  • Abbotsbury Swannery (8.5 kilometres)
