  • Wild-style camping with stunning views over the Jurassic Coast
  • A 10-minute drive from Weymouth; 15 minutes to Isle of Portland
  • Footpath leading to the coast path; a short walk to pubs and amenities
Check out those views… True to its name, Seaview Farm is right on the Jurassic Coast, with stunning views out over Chesil Beach and the Fleet Lagoon. You could quite possibly sit and stare at those views for many hours here (and if you choose to do that, you may be pleased to know that you’re welcome to spark up a barbecue for cooking and keeping warm while you watch the sunset over the sea). Not content with sitting still? This is a cracking location for walkers in particular: footpaths lead off from the farm in all directions, including one that heads off down towards the South West Coast Path and beyond to the Isle of Portland. A supermarket, a clutch of takeaways and several pubs are within walking distance too. You could, in fact, ditch the car for much of your stay at this Dorset site: there’s a bus stop a short walk away for jaunts around the area by public transport. If you are driving, however, you can get to Weymouth town centre and beach with a journey of less than 10 minutes, to Durdle Door or West Bay in about half an hour, or inland to the Cerne Abbas Giant in a similar amount of time. This is a wild-style stay with pitches on a spacious and slightly sloping field accessed via a track. There are no electrical connections here, but guests will have access to water, regularly serviced portable toilets and showers.

What customers say

Great sea views at this roomy, no-frills spot. Owners are super friendly. Pitches are big, facilities clean but a bit dated. Campfires allowed! Close to town and walks, though beach access is tricky. Relaxing, peaceful, back-to-basics vibe.

Non-electric grass tent pitch

Liked Lovely basic pitch nice to know it's used for the animals when not a campsite, lovely view pitch was so large Iwas shocked, plenty of toilet availability.

Disliked Track to pitch very damaging to your car if has been lowered but that's more my problem then the farms as is used for animals. Didn't like being td where to pitch we got out near very noisy teenagers who had no respect for the people around them for this reason I sadly would not book again.

Non-electric grass tent pitch

Liked Very spacious, helpful host, great location, campsite in good condition.

Disliked Toilets and showers.
It is very basic on the site but I feel as if the toilets and showers could be better maintained throughout the day.

Non-electric grass tent pitch

Liked Quiet and peaceful. Toilets clean and always stocked with toilet paper. A bag of firewood was only £10 and delivered to our tent. Pitches enormous and well spread out. Lovely view across the Fleet, facing west so you get great sunsets. Ideal for walking (the SW Coastal Path runs along the bottom of the site), and only 10 minutes drive to Weymouth. Close to supermarkets and fast food places. Even the ice cream van visits the site. And whole stay was really cheap compared to other places.

Disliked No major dislikes. Showers tended to be either scalding hot or freezing, but they're run off gas bottles, so I just had cold showers. Really windy site at times - not a problem as such, just make sure you have a good tent.

Non-electric grass tent pitch

Liked Great site with large pitches on a slight slope. Stunning views over to Chesil beach. The food (burgers, brekkie baps, tea, coffee) van, although only open a couple of hours morning and evening was excellent. Toilets and showers are basic (porta) but do the job.

Disliked The wind! But being in Weymouth this is not an option ;)

Local attractions

You’re bound to want to explore the Dorset coastline a little further once you’ve spied the sea from the site, so set off for a stroll along the coast path or plot a course to Weymouth (10 minutes’ drive) to play on the sand or meet the marine creatures at the Sea Life Centre. A couple of Dorset’s main icons – Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door – are about half an hour away by car, but there are plenty of quieter corners around to visit too. If you’re keen to give your hiking boots a good workout, start with a wander around the Hardy Monument or explore trails in the Valley of Stones National Nature Reserve (both 10 minutes’ drive). Mix in a bit of history as you walk with outings to Portland Castle or Jordan Hill Roman Temple (both 15 minutes) or get up close to the Cerne Giant (half an hour). For more days out, try Abbotsbury (15 minutes) for the swannery and subtropical gardens or Dorchester (20 minutes) for the dinosaur and teddy bear museums and Maiden Castle fort.
