  • Spacious pitches on the Dorset coast, overlooking Chesil Beach
  • A 10-minute drive to central Weymouth; 15 mins to Isle of Portland
  • On-site bar for drinks and food; play area and playing field
You’ll be able to squeeze the maximum amount of sea air out of your Dorset coastal break when you stay at East Fleet Farm Touring Park – this spectacular location is on the shores of the Fleet Lagoon, with views over Chesil Beach to the open sea beyond. Having sea views from the site means that you may be tempted to hang around on your pitch, put your feet up and simply take in the scenery for much of your break. And that’s not a bad idea at all – pitches are generously sized, with access to a play area and playing field for kids that may need a bit more activity. The well-stocked shop has various camping/caravan accessories and consumables, and it’s also the place to pick up a newspaper and an ice cream to take back to your camping chair. For more substantial eats, head to the on-site bar, which has an extensive food menu as well as a range of local drinks. It really is worth making the effort to get out and about locally though: there are some stunning walks on the South West Coast Path (which passes next to the site) and plenty of places to go for a bike ride. Weymouth and Dorchester are easily accessed too, as are the watersports of Portland and attractions such as Abbotsbury Swannery.

Great site, top facilities, especially roomy showers. Friendly staff, handy shop, lovely coast walks. Pitches are decent. Wi-Fi can be iffy, some slopes. Playground noise & occasional toilet tidiness issues noted at busy times.

Liked Enjoyed the atmosphere and friendly staff as always.
Shop fantastic and well stocked.
Enjoyed both the Bingo and live music in the Barn.

Disliked Showers and toilet blocks not as clean as usual.
Request pitch 117 as have stayed there on many occasions, and I am disabled so distance to amenities is essential however was told unavailable but noticed was empty till day we were leaving.

Electric grass pitch

Liked The location was fantastic as tourist attractions weren’t too far away and it was away from main roads, but within distance of supermarkets.
The views of The Fleet were spectacular, but please be aware that the site does not overlook Chesil Beach itself, and you cannot swim in The Fleet.
Our tent pitch was perfect on the Stable View land and it was right next to the drinking water taps and electric hook-up. It was also very peaceful.
The music in the evening was the best that we’ve heard in comparison to other resorts and our children enjoyed venturing off to the playing fields.
There was lots of space for the children to play and the restaurants & pizza place was a lovely touch to the site.
The on-site shop had practically everything you needed, including alcoholic beverages, which was needed at times. You could also pre-order pastries.

Disliked There’s not much there for teenagers so the playground area was filled with children over the age restriction, who were also not being monitored.
The Wi-Fi/phone signal wasn’t good, but was to be expected on a field.
The toilets got very smelly quite quickly unfortunately which was off-putting at times.
We wished that there was more entertainment/activities during the day and evenings for families and couples to enjoy.
We were disappointed that the site wasn’t on Chesil Beach itself, as we imagined spending more time at the campsite than we actually did.

Electric grass tent pitch

Liked Secure, safe site. Facilities are outstanding, welcomed at the gate and swiftly dealt with.

Entertainment offered throughout the week suited most if not all.

Disliked Combined shower rooms, with toilets inside, sometimes at busy periods meant you had to wait far too long just to use the toilet.

Our pitches gradient was quite steep which meant sleeping was a challenge.

No open areas for kids to play football, but the on site park was well maintained

Electric grass tent pitch

Liked Really lovely site. We were allocated our own pitch with hedge boundaries which was nice. Lots available on site. Plenty of toilets and showers. Well stocked onsite shop. We didn’t use the restaurant or bar but looked great. Fantastic location. Great play area and staff very helpful. I needed info on a local hospital and the lady at guest services was more than happy to advise. Views were lovely and a nice walk along the lagoon.

Disliked The hedges separating the pitches were full of wasps which had the children on edge.

The showers are basic. Press on, press off. Unable to change the temperature (wasn’t the warmest!) and having long thick hair, showering with minimal water pressure was interesting in washing shampoo out of hair…… took ages in a luke warm shower.

Non-electric grass pitch

Liked Lively campsite which we expected as it was school holidays. We booked non-electric grass pitch which was huge. Plenty of room to park campervan and have table and chairs outside. Pitch was quiet level on The Stables section and the grass was cut short. Shower blocks were busy at times where people were queuing but they were always clean. Toilets were clean but you needed to flush twice as they didn’t tend to clear paper etc on the first flush. The on-site bar was brilliant, great menu, food was lovely and completely dog friendly. Entertainment in The Barn onsite with live music. Lovely campsite.

Electric grass pitch

Liked Nothing

Disliked Toilet/showers were dirty and smelly.
The site was noisy.
We were expecting a beach after seeing the site photo’s but there is only a mudflat with gravel and mass amounts of rotting vegetation.
This site would not meet Caravan Club standards, proberbly reason no longer a member.

Local attractions

Can’t keep your eyes off the sea views? Pick up the South West Coast Path at the bottom end of the park, or head for favourite spots along the Jurassic Coast like West Bay (half an hour’s drive) and Lulworth Cove (35 minutes). The Isle of Portland (15 minutes) is also a great place for a walk, and it’s also got lots of watersports including windsurfing, coasteering and scuba diving. Weymouth (10 minutes) is another perennial favourite for its lovely sandy beach and attractions like the Sea Life Centre and Pirate Adventure Golf. You can also get to the town on two wheels by picking up the Weymouth Trail cycle route from the bridleway by the site (or follow the full nine-mile trail up into the hills…) Other options for days out nearby include Abbotsbury Swannery and Subtropical Gardens (15 minutes), Vurlands Animal Farm (20 minutes) or an arty afternoon at Sculpture By The Lakes (half an hour).
