General
- Single shepherd's hut in an 11-acre field with glorious Dorset views
- A 10-minute drive from Durdle Door and Lulworth on the Jurassic Coast
- Self-contained hut with kitchen, bathroom, barbecue and firepit
A stay in a shepherd’s hut usually has the makings of a rather lovely couple’s holiday in a cosy and characterful private space… and that’s just the start of the fine experience you’ll get at Wynards Farm.
The shepherd’s hut here is one that’s been kitted out with all manner of thoughtful and handy touches including its own bathroom with eco toilet, and a well-equipped kitchen (with a fridge, cooker and kettle). Outdoor time can be spent cooking up meals on the barbecue or keeping warm by the firepit; all should be nicely warm inside as well thanks to the woodburning stove.
The location here is a real winner too: the hut has been parked up in an 11-acre field with uninterrupted views over the surrounding countryside (which just happens to be part of the Dorset Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty for a guarantee of lovely scenery). It’s all got the feel of a place that’s right out in the middle of nowhere, but in fact you can walk to the village shop in Winfrith half a mile away or set out for the local pub a mile away – or just head out onto one of the footpaths and bridleways that run from the property.
Along with all this, the family that run this farm make a point of offering a warm welcome to all their guests. Owners Judy and Ray (along with daughter Annabel and partner Lee) meet guests to show them around and give out handy tips on local walks, pubs and the like. They’re often on hand for lifts to the pub or beach too, and can get your day off to a wonderful start by providing a breakfast hamper to your tastes (extra charges apply and you’ll need to let them know in advance).

Meanwhile, Weymouth’s sandy beach is about 20 minutes away.
Something a little bit different for your day out? How about The Tank Museum (15 minutes) or the entertaining antics of the residents of Monkey World - Ape Rescue Centre (10 minutes)?
