Fully-serviced gravel and hardstanding touring pitch

Liked: Swimming pool with sunbathing area. Bingo. Sunday carvery. Scampi and chips were delicious. Toilet/showers. Areas were all clean and well looked after.

Disliked: Our site didn't get the beautiful sea views, it was disappointing. Very disappointed too in the launderette as it was only open until 5pm, last load had to go in by 3:30pm, when on holiday I like to do laundry in the evening and enjoy the bonny weather during the day. The washers and dryers were very good.

Fully-serviced gravel and hardstanding touring pitch

Liked: Elevated site with some great views on some pitches. Lot of facilities on site including a swimming pool. Good bus service to get around. Helpful staff

Disliked: Our pitch was virtually in a big hedge on two sides with no views so make sure you book a better pitch.

From the manager: Thank you so much for staying with us and for your review! So pleased you encountered our helpful staff and enjoyed the facilities and swimming pool. The views from the touring and camping fields are truly spectacular. Electric grass pitch

Liked: The pools were good

Disliked: The pitch was double booked. Where we were placed the hedge stank of urine and there was a road the other side with fast vehicles driving past. The restaurant "kids eat free with every adult" is incredibly misleading and not as advertised, the staff unhelpful, sullen, argumentative and incompetent. I was also overcharged for our meal as each individual item had been entered at full price rather than as a combined 3 course meal. They refunded this and then billed me the correct amount after much insistence. Except they actually took money from my card rather than refunding it. It took several hours to sort that could have been spent with my family. The food was also very poor and massively overpriced. For dinner we decided to have a BBQ rather than risk the restaurant again. We had just finished eating when a member of staff zoomed up on an e-scooter to aggressively tell me that no open fires were allowed, only BBQs. Despite being stood in front of what was very clearly a BBQ. Very argumentative and only left us alone when I said "would it be better if I put another sausage on". The play areas are only really suitable for very small children. There's a mini golf course which was entertaining for a short while but at an extra cost. A bit of a cheek. Didn't once manage to get any internet on their wifi There are no dishwashing stations anywhere. Only a cold tap for drinking water. In the bathrooms there is only a single hot tap for each sink. No cold water. Really? Why? In short.... don't bother. Horrible pitch, horrible food, horrible staff and horribly overpriced

From the manager: Thank you for your review and valuable feedback - I am sorry to hear that you had this experience with us. As a family-run holiday park, we work hard to ensure the best holiday experience for all our guests, and take all feedback on board to improve in the future. I have passed your feedback on to the relevant managers for investigation in relation to the food and the BBQ experience as this is not what we would expect. We offer free Wi-fi in our bars and restaurants as well as paid Wi-fi around the park, I've passed your comments on to the team who supply this to look into any issues. We have dishwashing areas at both our toilet blocks on the touring fields, with hot and cold taps. Please accept our apologies for the slight mix up with the pitch on arrival - our technology was having a bit of a 'wobble' that day, but I understand that our reception team were able to rectify this really quickly for you. I've passed your feedback on to the grounds team in relation to the hedge. I am pleased to hear that you did like our pools though, and I hope the weather was lovely to give you a great chance to enjoy the outdoor pool to it's fullest. Should we be lucky enough to welcome you back in the future, please let us know as we'd love another chance to give you the Beverley Holiday experience we strive for. Kind regards, Nikki

Local attractions

Beverley Park is within easy driving distance of Devon days out and activities for all weathers, whether you want to browse around award-winning attractions, dive into beach days and watersports or delve into the options of Dartmoor National Park. Kids can plead for days at Paignton Zoo Environmental Park just over a mile from Beverley Park, Living Coasts within four or Pennywell Farm at Buckfastleigh nine miles away. If history's more their thing (ha), they can try trips to the likes of Babbacombe Model Village and the Victorian street and model railway of Bygones history museum, both at Torquay. The park is close to the tiptop Devon towns of Torquay, Brixham, Torbay and Totnes; Dartmouth (ships! castle!) is about eight miles away for a day out then a Dartmouth Steam Railway trip puffing gently back to Paignton. Go underground for some time among the prehistoric and cavernous caves of Torquay's award-winning Kents Cavern, first discovered in the 16th century and the inspiration for local resident Agatha Christie's tome The Man in the Brown Suit back in 1924.
