What customers say
Peaceful, back-to-nature spot with spacious pitches and great views, close to the beach. Honesty shop and hot showers are big pluses. Compost toilets are a mixed bag. Narrow lanes are a bit tricky, and shower doors/washing-up spots could be better. Excellent value for a quiet coastal break.

We’ve just spent the weekend camping…
Non-electric grass campervan, tent or trailer tent pitch
Liked We’ve just spent the weekend camping at Cool Cow Camping and honestly couldn’t fault it! The location is absolutely beautiful, with amazing views and such a peaceful, relaxed atmosphere. Being just a short walk from South Milton Sands was a huge bonus and made it so easy to head down to the beach whenever we fancied.
The pitches are spacious and it really feels like proper camping, surrounded by nature and away from the hustle and bustle. We loved how quiet and laid-back the site was, and the sunsets were absolutely gorgeous.
The facilities were rustic but clean and had everything we needed, especially the lovely hot showers after a day out. The little honesty shop was also a great touch for picking up bits and pieces without having to leave the site.
It’s also in such a great spot for exploring Salcombe, Hope Cove and the surrounding coast. We had such a lovely weekend and would definitely come back again. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a peaceful camping getaway in a beautiful part of Devon! 🏕️🌊☀️

Non-electric grass campervan, tent or trailer tent pitch
Liked The location was perfect, only 10 min walk to the beach, and 30 or so mins walk to hope cove, the honesty shop had enough varied items that might be needed, the showers were clean.
Disliked The wash up area where the showers and toilets are could do with having a bit more space and maybe an extra tap and sink, felt a bit uneasy about no lock on the showers, the compost toilets looked and smelled clean and fresh the first day but the next they started to get a bit strong with smells and pretty full, found difficult to continue to use.

Great site
Non-electric grass campervan, tent or trailer tent pitch
Liked Perfect location five minutes from the beach, and a perfect distance from hope cove fairly easy walk along the coast path
Disliked Toilets and showers could do with the gaps in the doors being filled and maybe something to soften the slamming doors as very load at night obviously if people were a little more careful if wouldn’t be a problem and locks on the showers as to avoid an unwanted eyeful lol 🫣

Disliked Few facilities very basic.
No locks on 3 showers that are available. 1 sink and no lights by the facilities. Few solar lights would be helpful.

Would benefit from more owner presence.
Non-electric grass campervan, tent or trailer tent pitch
Liked Good position for beaches and coastal walks.
Disliked Unfortunately we were next to a large family gathering who took up at least 4 pitches with many vehicles, one of which parked right alongside our van and proceeded to blow up numerous airbeds with car engine running and loud music playing. Kept awake by loud voices until well after 12am.
