  • Award-winning park in a wooded valley and wildlife haven
  • Within 15 minutes' drive of Ilfracombe, Woolacombe and Croyde Bay
  • Play parks overlooking gardens and lake
If life’s little stresses are getting you down, flee and hide away in this award-winning park in a Devon wooded valley. From your doorstep at Hidden Valley Park all the highlights of north Devon are within easy reach: the famed beaches of Ilfracombe, Woolacombe and Croyde Bay are no more than 15 minutes' drive away, and family days out at The Big Sheep are about half an hour from the site. But this pretty place is so secluded you'll feel like the world outside doesn’t even exist (which is always a win…). There's no need to leave the grounds until you're fully perked up, with plenty of peaceful options including wandering along the stream running through the park, lazing about the lakeside area, or taking a woodland walk to spot kingfishers and otters. Take a tramp through the forest then come back to relax around the gardens and lake – there’s wifi access too so you can load up your phone/tablet and studiously avoid catching up on work. Which is also a win… Kids and dogs can hide away too, as there are two play parks for the youngsters and the park is dog-friendly. Amenities include luxury shower and toilet blocks with hairdryers and underfloor heating, full disabled facilities, a reception with tourist information, a licensed shop and a launderette. Once it’s time to venture off site, a bus stop is just outside the entrance to the park.

Electric optional grass touring caravan, tent or trailer tent pitch (large)

Liked The forest location, the fact it had two parks for the children, facilities were excellent and water tap for each pitch. Overall nice site.

Disliked You can hear the a road at night and the parks could do with an update. The bar and cafe also opened at 12 each day which is no good for a family with children who rise with the sun!

We would definitely use this site again.

Electric optional gravel touring pitch (small)

Liked Helpfulness of staff
Cleanliness of facilities
Natural environment - loads of trees and abundant birdsong
Lovely walks in woodlands
The site is easy to get to and from, by car, bus, bike and on foot
Lakeside Restaurant has a good atmosphere and plenty of veggie/vegan choices

Disliked Not a big thing, but I think a squeegee to use after showers, rather than a mop and bucket would be more effective.

very poor internet/phone connection

Quiet and tranquil site

Electric optional gravel touring pitch (small)

Liked Friendly staff and lovely location set in river valley alongside the A361. Very nice onsite bar and restaurant served a nice pint of Thatcher's. The site has plenty of pitched but does not feel crowded and layout respectfully amongst the environment.. Every pitch has access to its own fresh water supply and electricity was metered which I was surprised was cheaper than the standard charge at most other sites. The site has bus stop at the entrance which services all the local towns and villages.

Disliked If I had to be critical then the toilet and shower blocks are in need of updating they are functional but the plumbing and décor is getting on in age. As a motorhome owner with internal waste tank I could not find anywhere to to decant the waste water, I appreciate all pitches had there own drain but its location without 5-6 meters of flexible waste pipe was not accessible to us.

Electric optional grass tent, touring caravan or trailer tent pitch (premium)

Liked Great location for a family stay.

The name is self explanatory as the Park feels like a hidden gem and the whole location is lovely as you're protected from the wind by all the forest around the pitches.
The running stream through the middle of the valley brings a welcomed relaxation spot and also an occasion for exploration for the family, catching tadpoles and arranging stones in the cold refreshing water.

The Park is really nice placed in proximity to Ilfracombe, Combe Martin and Woolabombe beaches.

Will definetly visit again.
See you soon!

Electric optional gravel touring pitch (large)

Liked Everything. A proper hidden gem. Lovely big pitches with all the amenities at hand. a nice little cafe/bar. The shop was a bit small, but they had milk, bread, alcohol, etc, and each morning you could get fresh pastries, which was a nice bonus. All the staff were really friendly. The woodland walk, the pond, and the creek, all of them were lovely. We had fab weather too, so we sat outside and had some drinks whilst watching the wildlife. There is a kids' play area, and you aren't far from Ilfracombe or Woolacombe. We loved it here and will definitely be back.

Disliked Nothing.

Lovely site with everything you need for a relaxed stay with dogs.

Liked Friendly. Amazing woodland walks and stream for the dogs within the site. Relaxed feeling. Great location for access to beaches and coastal towns. Good facilities. Nice little cafe with a lovely menu and little shop for essentials.

Local attractions

Hidden Valley is four miles from two of Devon’s best-known beaches, Woolacombe and Ilfracombe, five miles from the surfing mecca of Croyde Bay and six from a family day out at the beach of Saunton Sands. The areas around all these are well worth a look, but the Victorian harbour town of Ilfracombe is a must for bucketloads of boat trips such as punts out to nearby Lundy Island, the seafront with the Landmark Theatre, and St Nicholas Chapel on Lantern Hill, where a light has shone over the harbour for over a thousand years. Bring a torch for a walk to the Ilfracombe Museum and Tunnels beach, reached by tunnels through the cliff. Many family attractions close by for all weathers, including Exmoor Zoo (25 minutes' drive) and The Big Sheep (30 minutes), while sprogs will probably also like spotting ponies in the Exmoor wilderness, getting creeped out in the dungeon labyrinths of Watermouth Castle (20 minutes) or taking to the skies in the rides at the Milky Way Adventure Park, 45 minutes away at Bideford.
