Electric optional grass tent, touring caravan or trailer tent pitch (large)

Liked: Absolutely loved this campsite, very peaceful and quite with lovely surroundings. The staff were very friendly and accommodating and I absolutely loved the washing facilities and shower and toilet blocks, as they were very modern and clean and fresh.. even had a radio station playing whilst in there.

Disliked: Nothing, all was spot on.

Electric optional hardstanding touring pitch (premium)

Liked: Beautiful location with lovely woodland walks and gorgeous stream running through. Campsite was stunning and the pitch had ample room for motor home , car and picnic bench! Toilet and shower facilities were spotless. Really relaxing place.

Disliked: WiFi wasn’t great but didn’t spoil the holiday at all.

Electric optional gravel touring pitch (small)

Liked: It was beautiful being amongst the trees. It was very well looked after. The grounds were immaculate. The staff were very helpful.

Disliked: We were right next to a road which was a shame. One thing which isn’t a negative, it could go with a shelf under the mirrors where you plug in your hairdryer to pop your things in, instead of the floor.

Liked: Lovely clean site in beautiful surroundings.

Disliked: Appreciate time of year we visited it is quieter but it would have been nice for cafe/shop to be open frequently. Electricity charged in addition to pitch fee and had to organise pre-payment before we arrived as reception not manned after 3pm that day and then had to call on return to get refund

Local attractions

Hidden Valley is four miles from two of Devon’s best-known beaches, Woolacombe and Ilfracombe, five miles from the surfing mecca of Croyde Bay and six from a family day out at the beach of Saunton Sands. The areas around all these are well worth a look, but the Victorian harbour town of Ilfracombe is a must for bucketloads of boat trips such as punts out to nearby Lundy Island, the seafront with the Landmark Theatre, and St Nicholas Chapel on Lantern Hill, where a light has shone over the harbour for over a thousand years. Bring a torch for a walk to the Ilfracombe Museum and Tunnels beach, reached by tunnels through the cliff. Many family attractions close by for all weathers, including Exmoor Zoo (25 minutes' drive) and The Big Sheep (30 minutes), while sprogs will probably also like spotting ponies in the Exmoor wilderness, getting creeped out in the dungeon labyrinths of Watermouth Castle (20 minutes) or taking to the skies in the rides at the Milky Way Adventure Park, 45 minutes away at Bideford.
