What customers say

Peaceful, tidy spot with friendly owners. Level, private pitches. Handy for M5 & local shops. Limited facilities when busy, few nearby walks to pubs.

Electric grass pitch

Liked Spacious and flat, ideal for the kids games. Nice walk to a pleasant village.

Disliked Unfortunately the pub wasn’t open after our little stroll, but the little village stores were!

Non-electric grass pitch

Liked Friendly owner, Lovely level grass field surrounded by trees, woodland and wild flowers. Quiet with little to no road noise.
Clean facilities with the most powerful shower I have ever had! Free range chicken wandering happily.
Handy location travelling south. I would use again.
It would be sad to see it glamped up too much.

Disliked Needs more facilities, 1 shower, 1 toilet, 1 Urinal in the mens side, had to que on 2 occassions, (only stayed 1 night) and it was 60% full,? not enough for the amount of pitches in my opinion.

Non-electric grass pitch

Liked Fabulous host with details down to where the sun is in the morning and evening on the pitches, pick out pitch.
Hot water was plentiful for washing up and showers, extremely clean facilities block. Great to have picnic benches, carefully maintained grass, and lovely friendly resident cat and chicken!
So convenient for a get away only 10 miles from home, explored by bike on the Blackdowns and would recommend Ashill pub3.5 miles away.
Great if you are travelling to Devon close to M5 junction 28, but in secluded wood surrounded area, peaceful

Local attractions

It might be that you’re a savvy fisher already or you’re looking to dip your toes in for the first time. Either way, with Goodiford Mill Fishery (five minutes’ drive) practically around the corner, you’ll be well-set here. It’s just one of a few places close by that make up a unique set of holiday activities – these include the working Coldharbour Mill’s interactive museum (10 minutes), driving real-life diggers at Diggerland Devon (10 minutes) or the family-friendly assault course challenge on The Bear Trail (10 minutes). These activities already make some good action for any kids in your group, but Crealy Theme Park (20 minutes) has much more on that front, as does a good horse-drawn barge trip down the Tiverton Canal (15 minutes) or a detour to the entertainment facilities in Exeter city centre (25 minutes). A natural playground can be found at Sidmouth beach (half an hour). There’s kayaking or canoeing rental here but for cycling and walking (off the coastal path, that is), Exmoor National Park (35 minutes) is a sound choice. Historical sites also live on around here and that includes the National Trust’s Killerton (15 minutes), a huge 18th-century estate, and the Victorian Knightshayes Court (20 minutes), both royally good for walks and picnics.
