  • Private beach and secluded bay access for guests
  • Golf, free entertainment and pool complex with Jacuzzi and sauna
Cor. You'll have to eat your collective hats if lads and lasses of all sizes don’t find a mega amount of things to do at Ladram Bay Holiday Centre overlooking the Jurassic Coast – it’s billed as the holiday park with ‘something for everyone’ and has been heaped with awards over the years. Having its own private beach and secluded bay probably helps too… An adventure playground with giant pirate ship (aaaarrr) and a fab outdoor playground (with multi-level adventure frame with slides, wobbly bridges, tunnels and obstacle course elements) are just a couple of the picks at this friendly family park; a toddlers' area with a smaller climbing frame means that mini guests have suitable space to play too. On top of that, kids’ and teen clubs will keep all entertained during the day, and the arcade with games should see them additionally amused. As should the megasaurus Jurassic-themed adventure golf course and its lurking dinosaurs, and the pool complex with slides, fountains, sauna, Jacuzzi, steam room and gym. On a fine day, the outdoor splash zone is the place for water babes and non-swimmers alike to play with spray jets, water features and pirate ships. An indoor soft play area is available for ages up to 12 – and, most thoughtfully – is right next door to the Pebbles Restaurant. The soft play area and other pastimes are in the Three Rocks complex, which also has the amusement arcade, Waves Bar and Nightspot and Sky and BT sports on the big screen. Elsewhere, supplies are covered with the well-stocked supermarket, Beach Shack and the Coast Takeaway for essential holiday fish and chips. Looking for even more to do? Ladram Bay Holiday Centre has a programme of instructor-led activities for a reasonable extra charge, where grownups and kids can try their hands at raft building, sea scooters and body zorbing. Or have a day on the centre’s private beach, with watersports from the shore, rockpooling towards the far end and kayak, rowing boat or motorboat hire from the kiosk.

Electric grass tent pitch

Liked: What a beautiful site. Everything was excellent from the site management to the staff who kept all the bathrooms around the site sparkling clean. (Please pass this on to them as we do appreciate their work and it makes such a difference to a holiday to have clean facilities.) The entire area was spotless no litter to be seen, grass and shrubs beautifully maintained. We were camping and extended our stay because we liked it so much. The private beach is such a lovely place to just sit and listen to the waves and watch the wildlife. I enjoyed the swimming - others were fishing or using paddle boards, which were available for hire. There are camping pods, caravans and mobile homes, tents and motor homes. It does seem a lot but never felt overcrowded. I was the only one swimming at times along this beautiful beach for example. We had fish and chips from the onsite fish and chip shop twice - they were really well cooked so would recommend them. The shop is well stocked with everything you may need from swimming gear to groceries and competitively priced too so no need to travel away from the site to find your supplies. There are entertainments for all age groups if you like a night out, or the children want to join up with other children. We preferred to sit on the beach and drink in the serenity but there is something here for everyone. Expect a warm welcome from the staff at the gate special thanks to the understanding reception staff who sorted out a small hiccup on our booking (totally our fault!). Would definitely visit again.

Disliked: Can't think of anything except that it is not nearer to where we live!

Electric grass tent pitch

Liked: Loads to do. Very clean shower block including a family shower room. Great view! Access to the beach.

Disliked: Would be good to have some food waste bins by the washing up basins. Very hard ground to get tent pegs into (I think this was mentioned in the pitch description). Two minor points.

Electric grass tent pitch

Liked: Lovely clean campsite & facilities, very helpful staff on the entrance to the site. Loads to keep the kids entertained. Onsite shop & restaurants excellent too.

Disliked: Swimming pool staff not very friendly- started cleaning (flooding the floor!) around us while we were getting changed at the end of the day. 45 minute session & still had to pay full price too!

Electric grass tent pitch

Liked: The site was well equipped with clean facilities and spacious tent pitches. We camped and the toilet and shower block seems quite new and had lots of warm water which is always a bonus when camping. The bar and restaurant were lovely with a good choice of menu for GF and vegan. Kids play area was great for younger and older children and the soft play and arcade were a hit too. The entertainment bar seemed brand new and had a great range of cocktails. The beach shack serves fabulous breakfast at reasonable prices. A great site by the sea and very safe for the kids. The beach is pebble but has some great waves and beautiful views. There are lots of benches on the beach to sit and relax.

Disliked: The main restaurant doesn't serve breakfast which was disappointing. Camping pitches aren't inclusive of swimming so we had to pay extra.

It’s great to know that our facilities, including the bar, restaurant, and kids' play areas, met your expectations. We're especially pleased that you appreciated the range of options for gluten-free and vegan diets. Your positive feedback about the beach shack’s breakfast offerings and the overall safety of our site for children mean a lot to us and we are naturally thrilled that you found our beach to be a beautiful spot to relax. We also appreciate your comments regarding the main restaurant not serving breakfast. We’ll certainly take this into consideration as we continue to improve our service. Local attractions

Once you’re ready to go off site – sometime around week two, probably – the South West Coast Path is steps away and has stellar walks to Budleigh Salterton to the west and Sidmouth to the east. Inland, the Budleigh Salterton to Otterton five-mile walk follows the banks of the River Otter; the Otter Valley Wildlife Walk is an easy stroll through the Lower Otter Valley nature reserve to look out for kingfishers and waders from the river’s viewing platforms and hides. Twitchers can also head inland to the Exe Estuary RSPB reserve 13 miles away to see migratory birds or book a boat trip to spot avocets. Finally, if fishing’s your main hook, you won’t have far to go: many Ladram Bay guests fish from the park’s own cove, hiring a boat from the kiosk and going out to land mackerel for the barbie.
