  • Peaceful site on a smallholding five miles from Bideford
  • Wakeboarding park, surf lessons and amusement parks a short drive away
  • Alpacas, goats and horses to meet on site
Park yourself here for easy access to smashing Devon beaches, the South West Coast Path and the Tarka Trail cycle path, plus watersports lessons and kid-friendly visitor attractions such as The Big Sheep, The Milky Way, Atlantis Adventure Park and Quince Honey Farm. Set within a properly peaceful smallholding, Broad Park Camping and Glamping is a warm and friendly park five miles west of the handsome and historic harbour town of Bideford, where there are independent shops, restaurants serving up local produce, and a pretty riverside quay. While the site lies a handy mile or so off of the A39, it's quiet around this splendid spot. Amenities are well thought out: there's a kitchenette with a microwave, a kettle, a toaster, a fridge and a freezer, in a room with cards, board games and tourist info leaflets. Milk, fizzy drinks, bottled water, chocolate and locally made luxury ice creams can all be bought at the site's small honesty shop. Foodwise, if you want to grill up a gourmet feast, barbecues are allowed; fire baskets are also available for hire, and kindling and logs are available to buy on site for toasty campfires under the north Devon night sky. Friendly dogs are welcome here at Broad Park but must be kept on a lead at all times; for a list of all the dog-friendly beaches nearby, just ask your cordial hosts, who'll be more than happy to oblige.

Electric optional gravel touring pitch

Liked: Views amazing, animals adorable. Process was effortless and very quiet.

Disliked: Entrance/accessibility to the farm is restrictive with a motorhome/caravan.

From the manager: It’s such a shame when people score us down for accessibility, as in this day and age it is easy to go online to see what the roads to our site are like before you book. Also in our description it does say nestled in the countryside, so you would expect country lanes. 😊 Thank you for coming to stay.

Electric optional grass tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked: Lovely quiet site with some small farm animals, peaceful and clean. A cute little shop selling snacks and marshmallows etc was a nice touch. Fire pits also available to hire which was great.

Disliked: Hairdryer in the washing facilities would have been a bonus.

Electric optional grass tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked: Really small camp, lovely and quiet, stunning country views from all directions. Only around 20 mins from Bude. Some goats, alpacas and ponies right next to the camping pitches which was lovely. Really simple self serving camp. You pick your pitch, write your name on the board in the amenities room. There’s a little shop there which is run on an honesty basis but you can pay by card. Had a range of snacks, marshmallows and fire magic dust stuff to buy. Also there was a section in the room where people had left things like camping chairs, body boards etc for people to use. Toilets were nice and clean, showers were basic but fine. Because it was so quiet there were never any cues for the showers or toilets. Would definitely come here again, lovely little find. Small and secure so you were not worried where the kids were as you could normally see them wherever they were.

Electric optional grass tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked: Grandparents camping with 7 year old grandchild. Our grandson absolutely loved feeding the goats every morning Loved having amenities room it was godsend in the rain Thank you Nicki for being so patient as grandson literally followed her around most mornings whilst she did her chores feeding the animals. We had a wonderful stay Thankyou

Disliked: No play area for children or dog walking area but definitely not a criticism as a great little site Road is very narrow to the site that is of course out of the owners hands

Electric optional grass tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked: Clean toilets and showers. Great amenities room with bits and pieces you may forget to bring! Picturesque setting and lovely animals which are nice to watch. Great that you get a picnic bench with the pitch. Owners were friendly and helpful.

Disliked: Slightly exposed to the wind but we were just unlucky with the weather I think.

Electric optional grass tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked: Lovely owners, big tent pitches, amenities room was useful and snacks and pop were available to buy at a reasonable price. Great location and clean. Lovely touch with the goats and alpacas as my son loved interacting with them (big bag of goat food available to buy for £1)

Disliked: Extremely windy site, not sure if it was magnified due to the less than favourable weather conditions, but it was so challenging to pitch the tent and i was kept awake with my tent practically horizontal. Also its a small site, but there was only 1 toilet for men and 1 for women and only 2 showers. There was a family bathroom with 2 toilets but they are like school cubicles so adults couldn’t really use them.

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Disappointing 6 out of 10. It isn’t a windy site it was a windy day everywhere, the weather is out of our control and is sad when people score us down due to weather. We feel our two ladies toilets, one male and a family/ unisex bathroom with two toilets, is sufficient for 10 pitches.😊

Local attractions

Be sure to bring your buckets, spades and beach towels, because you're going to be getting a lot of beach action with a stay here: just outside the Hartland Heritage Coast, the site gives you very easy access to miles of spectacular coastline and award-winning beaches – a short drive will bring you to the sands and sea of Clovelly, Westward Ho!, Appledore, Hartland and Saunton Sands. Also nearby is North Devon Wake Park, where you can get wakeboarding lessons and bounce, slip, slide and clamber on the aqua park’s trampolines, slides, logs, running mats and climbing frames. Surfing lessons can also be had over at Westward Ho! nearby. There’s a wealth of fun places to take little bloomers to within easy reach too: The Big Sheep, The Milky Way, Atlantis Adventure Park and the buzztastic Quince Honey Farm, where you can investigate the lives of bees through interactive exhibits housing more than 20 colonies using bee cams and looking glasses. If you’re into long walks along scenic coastline, Broad Park Camping and Glamping is near the South West Coast Path, or if you're more of a pedally person the Tarka Trail is nearby too; bikes are available to rent locally if you don't bring your own.
