Electric hardstanding touring pitch

Liked: Views

Disliked: Washing up facilities dirty. No soap/hand towels in loos. Showers Discusting, loos not cleaned ever. Does anyone from Pitchup inspect these campsites before listing? I wouldn't wash a dog in the LH men's shower.

Electric grass pitch

Liked: Field nice and friendyness of proprietor

Disliked: Showers old and not maintained adequately. Approach road long with too few passing places for caravans etc as single track with severe speed bumps

Electric grass pitch

Liked: Large mainly flat spaces. Very peaceful. Central to a lot of things like Port Isaac, Tintagel Castle, ect.

Disliked: The toilet shower block but it worked so was fine for our two nights but they are building beautiful new toilet and shower block with disabled access it’s absolutely lovely. Hopefully ready before the end of this year.

Electric grass pitch

Liked: Very quiet location, even though site got busy throughout the week, everybody kept to themselves and did their own thing. Thoroughly relaxing week and very enjoyable.

Disliked: Toilet and Showers still lead a lot to be desired, new block under construction but not much progress since we last stayed in June.

Electric grass pitch

Liked: This site was our best yet, it was quiet, clean and the hosts were so friendly. The pitches were of a great size with plenty of room, I loved the idea of the hedges separating each pitch, it gave a feeling of privacy aswell as helping the wildlife. We will DEFINITELY be going be back and highly recommend it !

Electric hardstanding touring pitch

Liked: Everything, lovely location, great big pitches with incredible views. The owners are two of the lovliest people we have met, super kind and helpful. We had a nana’s cream tea which was excellent value for money and super delicious, definitely try the home made jams, it’s not to be missed when visiting. They were so lovely to our two children. We read the reviews and were apprehensive about the toilets showers and whilst they are old, they were clean and plenty of hot water. The new toilet block looks amazing and will be a fantastic addition to the site. Great location for port isacc and surrounding beaches. Site is a brilliant find and we will most definitely be back.

Local attractions

You may need to settle here for some time if you’re going to explore all the outdoorsy options nearby. Cyclists can hire bikes in Wadebridge to pedal along the 18-mile Camel Trail, and there are plenty of walks nearby too. Rock has a golf course and a watersports centre for kayaking, waterskiing and paddleboarding. And there are the beaches, of course… try Porthilly or Brea beaches for beach games, Polzeath for surfing and surf lessons, or Harbour Cove (accessed by ferry across the river from Rock) for rockpooling and sandcastle construction. Family-friendly outings nearby might include trips to Camel Creek Adventure Park, the Cornish Bird of Prey Centre or Newquay Zoo, all of which are within a drive of half an hour or so. The famed domes of the Eden Project are around a 40-minute drive away but well worth the trip.
