  • Family-friendly bell tents overlooking the pretty village of Stithians
  • A 10-minutes drive from Stithians Lake and 20 minutes from Falmouth
  • Pub within walking distance, another a short drive; bike rides nearby
Searching for family adventures on the Cornish coast? Bike rides and hikes in the stunning countryside? Stunning bell tents with some special sunsets? Kennall Valley Camping has all of the above ingredients and a great, central location overlooking Stithians, a scenic village surrounded by the Cornwall countryside. Here, you’ll be well-situated for getting to Cornwall’s north and south coasts. To the south is the diving and fishing haven of Falmouth, 20 minutes’ drive away, and up north is Porthtowan beach (25 minutes), a strong choice for a day of surfing. With these splendid beaches within driving distance and plenty of walks and bike rides on the doorstep, Kennall Valley Camping is an especially good choice for families or couples to pitch up and unwind. Come evening time (or whenever you're looking for a midday meal, you choose), the local pub is just half an hour’s walk away in Stithians. There's another local pub 25 minutes’ drive away when you fancy somewhere new. With a small shop in Stithians, stocking up on the essentials is easy to do. Barbecues and firepits are some of the ways to unwind or you could watch the sunset do its thing from the opening of your bell tent. If you need anything, the friendly lot at this family-friendly site will help to make sure your stay’s cosy as can be.

Local attractions

Whether it’s watersports or a relaxing walk around the lake followed by a bite to eat in the café, Stithians Lake (10 minutes’ drive) has plenty of options for a peaceful day out. It’s possible to bring along your own watercraft, hire one out or learn a new trick – the watersports centre runs paddleboarding, kayaking, canoeing, sailing and trout fishing activities. There are other places to get your hair wet around here. You could start out with diving activities in Falmouth and finish with sea kayaking from the town’s Swanpool Beach (15 minutes). For a little history instead, Pendennis Castle (20 minutes) is in Falmouth and houses some cool war weapons such as cannons and guns. Around the south coast, more top spots include the sub-tropical Trebah Garden (20 minutes) and the family-friendly Flambards Theme Park (20 minutes). When you’re planning on taking off towards the north coast of Cornwall instead, the beaches of St. Ives Bay (35 minutes) are a stunning stretch of sand up there, with the Godrevy Lighthouse, splendid sand dunes and excellent swells for surfing.
