  • Family-run park a mile from the A39 and Devon border
  • A 10-minute drive from Bude for beaches, surfing, golf and riding
  • Bus stops just outside the site; playground on site
At The Red Post Inn four miles from Bude, there's plenty to do around the locale. Take a wander around the country lanes, perhaps, fish or birdwatch at Tamar Lakes, or head over to Bude for beaches, surfing, golf and horse riding. Being only five minutes from the A39, it’s pretty straightforward to get from the site to a whole heap of attractions across Cornwall and neighbouring Devon (Padstow and Dartmoor National Park are both around an hour's drive away, for starters). If you don’t fancy the drive, there are a couple of bus stops just outside the site for journeys to Bude, Barnstaple, Exeter and Plymouth. Back at base, all is kept straightforward but comfortable. There are spacious pitches, separate men’s and ladies’ toilets and showers, a chemical waste disposal point, a launderette, and a playground to keep the kids suitably amused.

Local attractions

From this handily located spot, a mile from the A39 and the Devon border, you’re well placed for all manner of visits and activities. Staying in Cornwall, it’ll take you half an hour or so to drive to the Arthurian Tintagel Castle, 45 minutes to get to the pretty fishing village of Port Isaac, and an hour or so to feast on fresh seafood in the restaurants of Padstow or wander in the biomes of the Eden Project. Those with tiddlers in tow might like to cross into Devon for a day at the Big Sheep farm and amusement park. Closer to home is Bude, four miles away – a hub for surfers (and wannabe surfers), where visitors can also ride horses through the waves, play a game of golf with smashing sea views or relax on the fine sandy beach.

Electric optional gravel touring pitch

Liked: Good size pitch
Nice good size grass area for the children to play games on
Peaceful at night
Ideal location for a base to go off exploring..off the main road now lanes

Disliked: Kids park...over grown and unsafe.. children not able to use..full of stingers...wooden bridge falling apart.
Showers...dirty, cold, smelly, not cleaned,
Pub on site closed
Pitches are not level
Site is messy..over grown
Needs alot of TLC
Will not be returning.
Shame ...the site has a lot of potential if taken over by the right people
No actual reception place to sign in...a chap saw us on the off chance and took us to our pitch.
Never saw the owners again the whole week.

Electric optional gravel touring pitch

Liked: A great site. We have a big Motorhome so the site is highly accessible. It’s about 10 minutes drive into Bude.
The site has lovely pitches arranged around a central open area. It feels so spacious. There are lots of seasonal campers but this makes the site so friendly.
The facilities for the ladies are good with hot powerful showers. There was sinks and mirrors as well as a full length mirror which were helpful.
It has washing machines and sinks for washing up too.
There isn’t a dog walk so you need to walk around the site but this was fine as we could drive to the beach in 10 minutes.
Sadly the restaurant was closed but were told this before we went.

Disliked: To be fair we didn’t really dislike anything. We loved it. The only improvement we could ask for is plugs in the sinks in the gents toilets, this would be helpful for wet shaves.
