  • Serene and green eco camping over seven acres, a mile from Bude
  • Within easy walking distance of beaches, shops and pubs
  • Animals, veg garden, wildlife pond and forest garden
There are many reasons to make your way to Cerenety Eco Campsite: the laidback, friendly atmosphere, variety of animals and plenty of space to unwind are just a few. You may like to meet Red, the site's ex racehorse, who now sees out his days in the pleasant pastures, or the sheep and Heather the alpaca. If you like tortoises, they always appreciated being fed with dandelion leaves and flowers… and let's not forget about sitting by the wildlife pond, listening to birdsong and watching for the moorhens or the visiting heron. A 10-minute walk from the site leads to the South West Coast Path, where there's a little-known beach called Upton beach (wild, clean and great for rockpooling). In the other direction, take a short walk downhill to the canal. You could stroll quickly inland for a cream tea or take a one-mile canal stroll to the town of Bude and its two surfing beaches A huge amount of other first-rate things are on offer at this off-grid, peaceful and back to nature site: you may, for example, care to amble around the driftwood archways, play chess on the giant tables, or spy species around the wildlife pond… Or you could potter around the forest garden – and try your hand at creating your own – or just find your own peaceful place for lazing among the grass. Guests can pick herbs, fruit and veg at the vegetable patch and forest garden. Solar-powered showers and compost toilets are also on site.

What customers say

A chilled, back-to-nature eco-campsite, loved for its tranquil vibe, scenic canal walk to Bude & friendly owners. Spacious pitches & fire pits offered. Eco-facilities (compost toilets, solar showers) are basic, some say needing more upkeep when busy. Relaxed, natural, highly recommended.

Non-electric grass campervan pitch

Liked Location and pleasant owner/host

Disliked Sloping pitch (definitely need levellers) and decrepit toilet block with leaking showers. No hot water for washing dishes.

Non-electric grass campervan pitch

Liked the view, the green place and location

Disliked no glory like subscribed on the website...no clean sanitary. Eco idea is nice but not if you notice trash and a messy forgotten place...We didn't see the owners. No light in the evening. Sadly i payed an amount that can give some better place on other campsites with good service.

Non-electric grass campervan pitch

Liked The location accessed some narrow lanes, is close to the canal (short walk down the hill) where you can walk, just over a mile into Bude and onto the beaches and the town centre. The canal walk has lots of wildlife (ducks, geese, kingfishers etc., a very peaceful stroll (no bikes permitted on the canal tow path) and the Dunes on the beach were a great place to enjoy the sun and views over the bay and shelter from the wind late September so the weather was on the turn). Access to the headland and coastal walk is 10 mins in the other direction The site was very quiet as it was end of season, the owner was very friendly and met us on arrival to let us know various things.

Disliked It's hard to be too critical as this is an eco-site, so you do expect more rudimentary facilities. There was plenty of hot water for the showers but in short it really does need an upgrade - I don't mind 'rustic charm' but would expect to have better maintained shower area in general. Two hand basins and only one was working. There is no hot water to the pot wash area. The site only has a few level pitch areas - we were able to position the VW camper and awning and with the aid of our vehicle levellers set up between some trees but this made opening the tailgate fully a little tricky. Being picky, you can hear the constant 'drone' of the A39 "Atlantic Highway' in the distance but perhaps my sharp hearing is more my issue!

Non-electric grass tent pitch (two person, small)

Liked Good space to pitch and some sheltered spots from the wind. The facilities were good for the price, warm showers and plenty of toilets. The campsite is a short walk along the river into Bude and an even shorter walk to the south west coastal path

Non-electric grass campervan pitch

Liked Peaceful site a pleasant walk from the coast path and town with its good pubs and facilities.

Simple eco approach to provision, some level pitches available, the rest on gentle slopes.

Disliked Showers weren't that warm when we stayed.

Non-electric grass campervan pitch

Liked A lovely tranquil site, close enough to Bude to walk.
The walk along the canal and through the marshes is really nice.
The eco facilities are brilliantly kept and having phone Chargers is a good facility.

Disliked Nothing to dislike. I hope that guests appreciate the ethos of the site.
