Liked: Gorgeous site in the Meon valley surrounded by the South Downs so 360 degree spectacular views. Beautiful soft grass level pitches. Toilets were kept spotless and everything well stocked. Well worth the local walks - takes an hour to climb to the top of the surrounding hills so you get beautiful far reaching views. The owner is super friendly and helpful and brings wood round daily. Local pub is a short walk and has a lovely beer garden with rope swings for kids. There were loads of kids with an extended camping friends and family group and a DofE group at the time I stayed and it was lovely to see kids and teens enjoying the outdoors and playing ball games rather than being glued to screens! They were all respectful of the quiet times and were a credit to their families. I would totally recommend this site - it’s an absolute gem.

Liked: The location was lovely and peaceful. Staff were really friendly and helpful, advising where we could walk our dog and where the village is and where he lives should there have been a real emergency! We were also asked if we would Like any wood to burn in the drums provided on site. The field had immaculate (non smelly) porta loos and running water to wash up or get water for your kettle etc Our dog absolutely loved the “en suite” little river running around the field !! It was just lovely - thank you - we have already discussed when we would like to return x

Liked: Easy to find, peaceful and surrounded by nature. The river Meon flows around the site and there is an overall very tranquil vibe. The site owner was really friendly and helpful and made us feel welcome. Only slight niggle would be the lack of a bin, but taking your rubbish away with you really isn’t a big issue, and is more in-keeping with staying out in nature anyway!
Disliked: Nothing to complain about!

Liked: Each pitch is spread out so you do not feel like you are on top of each other! Although just off a road, the noise was minimal and it was not visible from the pitches so the scenery remained unspoilt. Fire pits are provided, so could either take your own wood or purchase some. Toilets were clean and well kept. Owner was present and friendly so was approachable with any questions we had. Beautiful surroundings and a great back to basics place to catch up with a friend.

Liked: Peaceful and chilled Pubs nearby Near a village
Disliked: I think the site should have some kind of Elsan point I saw a caravan owner empty his toilet cassette into the portaloo Which filled it up ! If a large number of Motorhomes and caravans did this all 5 or 6 loos would quickly fill up I understand it’s a difficult one However temporary Elsan points are available !

Liked: Location, beautiful views and plenty of walks with views out to the Isle of Wight. Hosts were so very friendly and attentive. Loved the farm shop, the Asparagus was delicious. Excellent facilities for a wild camping site. Portaloos were sparkling clean and well stocked. Hand soap provided at washing point. Village a short walk with two pubs, didn’t get to sample their hospitality, but a perfect reason to return another time.
Disliked: Nothing to dislike about Meonside Camping

Liked: Really friendly and relaxed site with beautiful surroundings. The loos are kept clean and the upgraded sinks are good. It is within walking distance of the village and there is a new farm shop with local meat and vegetables on sale. Have been back many times!
