  • Dog-friendly bell tents at a pop-up site in the Hampshire countryside
  • A 15-minute drive to the South Downs; 25 minutes to Winchester
  • Firepits, firewood and a picnic table provided; pubs 10 minutes’ drive
Spend nights under the stars and days scoping out splendid little spots around the South Downs National Park and Winchester… simply put, the bell tents at Barton Farm Glamping are well-based for holiday action in the Hampshire countryside. That’s all with a generous dose of relaxation and plenty of glamping-style creature comforts. There’s certainly plenty to get you into the glamping fever. Each five-metre bell tent has its own firepit and a picnic table handy for tucking into snacks under the stars. Each bell tent has its own individual area surrounded by 10 other tents and access to portable toilets and hot flowing showers. This dog-friendly place really does come alive come nighttime too. The bells are sprinkled with bunting and fairy lights, and there’s a small table inside with a chandelier hanging from the centre. For fine firepit set-ups, the kitchen essentials include a basket with firewood, fire lighters and marshmallows (plus toilet roll and drinking water for the day). The beds include fitted sheets, blankets and pillows, and extra bedding can be purchased as an optional extra. Since you’re surrounded by fields, you may want to pull on your wellies or trainers and take off on a walk with views of Winchester earlier in the day. Otherwise, the site is 15 minutes’ drive from edge of the South Downs National Park for more lush landscapes such as river valleys and hills. If visits to cafés, boutique shops and pubs are part of your plan, New Alresford is 10 minutes’ drive from the site. Those of you who have the whole family tagging along might want to book onto The Watercress Line in the town for a steam train ride, then go for a stroll along the riverside.
